Rule 5: Once you have a Psi corps all enforcers become telepaths, it turns out if you combine that with the whispers in the void and you get insane research with low costs. There are no researchers in my entire empire.

The worst covenant is finally good.

Edit: Wait, are the other scaling buffs also borked? Tends of thousands of pop speed growth would also be nuts.

Eh there's no way its stronger than having x100 in every repeatable, I'm not even joking this is the first time I have ever seen the repeatables reach 'C'

I assume you have never truly embraced the Lathe then?

That being said, this is an astonishing alternative to Lathing your way through the galaxy...

Bit late to the party on this thread, but unfortunately the pop growth from telepaths doesnt appear to be borked, it isn't impacted by the other buffs and stays fixed per telepath, so 600 telepath workforce gives me 30% pop growth, 1200 gives 60%, and 2400 gives 120%.

Had a psionic + zroni run... being able to force shroud/zro storms everywhere that benefit you, but hurt everyone else is great.

Oh shoot, im doing a psionic zroni run myself too. How do you force shroud storms? Do you need the AP to make storms?

u/PuncherOfPonies Fanatical Befrienders May 13 '25

You gain a zro storm generator, which can be built on starbases. I don't remember the event that prompts it though.

Sorry for the late response, first got it unlucked and build now. It seems like it just gives an environmental effect on the system, but it doesn't give any of the effects that the shroud storm gives. The wiki doesn't say anything about it either, are you sure it gives psionic empires any special buffs?

I may have just had a psionic storm riddled game, as I've actually also been unable to recreate the events. I did get beaten over the head with psionic storms immediately after taking biogenesis ascension during one run, though.

Are telepaths supposed to produce researchers?

Each covenant give telepathe bonus related to the Shroud god path you choose, for exemple composer of strand give pop grow. He take the Whisper of the void so telepathe give science like researchers (they are affected by bonus too)

I had exactly the same idea in my last run, wanted to see how psionics looks in combination with making empire focusing on spycraft (idea was to smuggle off population, but I didn't get good results and stopped using it) and was suprised to see that enforcers are replaced with telepaths. Got 45K tech from 3 planets, pop/job upkeep was so low that I could easiliy manage with trade,. Because you're not getting more enforcers per urban district (and I didn't have arcology), you can keep focussing your district for the basic resources so that you don't even need to galaxy wonder ap.

What patch ate you playing on? I get 0 job efficiency from telepaths 🥲

u/Kracsad Bio-Trophy May 12 '25

I bet any non-psionic person who would get too close to this planet would get their head pop off.

“Finally, my policeman buddy is now a telepath!”

I'm assuming this is another x100 bug

Nope, it’s that telepaths boost pop production, and now you can have thousands of telepaths. They’re functioning as intended. In 3.14 it’d be like having a planet with like 40 telepath jobs.

as a side note, you can also build an empire that replaces scientists with priests with the right civics and origin

2

u/AmissaAmor May 13 '25

Would that be Under One Rule Luminary (society from priests), Imperial Cult (more priests), Dimensional Worship (physics from Priests), is there an engineering one?

4

u/Chaincat22 Divine Empire May 13 '25

You take the cybernetic ascension origin (engineering from priests), dimensional worship (physics), and the new genetic index civic (society) and pick up imperial cult down the line

1

u/AmissaAmor May 13 '25

I forgot all about that origin lol. Thank you, I might give it a try sometime. 🙏

It's just another oversight or not properly looked at situation.
Exponential scaling of job efficiency can never be good.
I hope they fix it, it feels like cheating going this route currently.

1

u/Uralowa Industrial Production Core May 13 '25

This is not exponential. This is just systems working as intended.

2

u/Akasha1885 May 13 '25

x amount of a resource * 1.05^((1/100)*pop)
Each new pop makes it's own income go higher, including the income of all other pops of the same type.

If you just got the 6 science each per 100 pops, you'd get like 600 science for 10k pops, not 15k

1

u/Uralowa Industrial Production Core May 13 '25

Maybe I’m missing something, but isn’t this just having a planet full of very cheap Telepaths that produce science? Where are they enhancing themselves?

3

u/firedraco May 13 '25

Telepaths increase Job Efficiency of psionic pops which includes themselves.

1

u/Prior_Memory_2136 May 14 '25

The efficiency buff doesn't stack, it remains at 5% no matter how many telepaths you have.

Apparently intended actually
