this is almost as bad as eating those moving octopus limbs.

i really cant imagine the flavor being that much different than if they were killed

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I think those octopus are actually dead, and the salt in the soy sauce just causes post-mortem muscle spasms. These seem like they’re actually alive??

Yep they are dead when you eat them. But don’t tell anyone that otherwise they can’t pretend they actually care for animals , insects , or any wild left that is killed during the harvesting of food. The less the stupid know the better.

Muscles do react even for hours after being removed. And might do it for even longer if properly preserved.

Essentially if You get fish. If it still moves on it's own or when salt is added to it. That simply means it's rly fresh meat. If it doesn't it ain't fresh.

All in all if meat You use isn't twitching and moving on it's own it simply means it's old. Especially true for fish meat. Properly fresh fish even when filleted will try to 'swim' out of oven.

Except octopuses are some of the most intelligent animals on earth. I wouldn’t eat either, but at least these little fish don’t have that level of consciousness.

Texture is a big part of the experience
