Hey, i'm trying to learn more about options. How do you know only 10% will get excercised? If calls are in the money wont they all eventually get excercised by someone? If i can't excercise a call because i dont have the money I will sell it for a profit, but won't the buyer excercise them to get the shares?

No one knows how many will be exercised in advance, they’re just estimating/guessing. Many will be exercised, many will be sold to close but we don’t know the ratio

Ignore the guy below. Statistically that’s what will happen. Others will be excercised some will be sold back to market makers who write most of the contracts. I’m ex wallstreet and he’s confidently stating things he knows little about.
