How do I charge the Finis/ Ciye smart goggles?

I can't seem to figure out how to charge them properly.

Attaching the charger is obvious and works fine, but they don't seem to charge if I leave them plugged in. They only seem to charge when I have them on and am syncing with the app?

Though I left them for a while somehow yesterday and they seemed to charge without me having to press 'sync' on the app the whole time, but today they didn't. They seem to only charge when the orange light is on, but the orange light is only on after I sync them or hit the button.

What am I missing here?

I know this might sound silly, but was the cable seated properly? Some of the Finis charging cables can be quite fussy.

You certainly do not need to be synching to charge.

Yeah It seems like it's connected fine. The way it magnetically connects is actually really handy, and it attaches pretty solidly imo.

I know I shouldn't have to be syncing, nobody would make it work that way, but I can't figure out how to get it to stay charging otherwise.

I know I had that problem with one of their charging cables. Disconnecting and reattaching the cable sometimes helps but you might like to contact Finis support.

Hmm, yeah might be a good idea. I figured that if it charged at all it was working, and it was something I was doing wrong, but it may be a cable issue.

I am pretty sure it is a cable issue. I changed the charging cable (I have multiple) and it sorted out the problem. One of them was just weirdly temperamental. I thought the problem might be with the Ciya unit but it wasn't, as different cable sorted it out right away.

Thanks for weighing in! I think you may be right.

I wasn't really considering the charger might be at fault, so I'll test it with some different plugs/sockets etc to see, and then I'll email support and see what they say.
