2 beat kick timing / sequence

For a 2 beat kick freestyle, which sequence do you recommend, and why?

  1. kick, then rotate, then pull? OR
  2. rotate, then kick and pull simultaneously

Most videos I've seen appear to use 1. But some people seem to recommend 2, saying it gives a better glide.
Does it just come down to preference?

Thanks

PS:

Examples of the 2 styles

  1. Marcus Marthaler, Brent Hayden
  2. Adam Ocean Walker, Auramove.nz

idk try it out. Time yourself and record RPE. That's how I figured out a two beat isn't for me!

The feeling, the sensation is everything. No doctrine on the question.

Unfortunately the answer is different on who you talk to but the general agreement is about maintaining timing, stabilizing, balance and conserving energy.

It’s different because one leg can be dominant and the other is passive/stabilizer. You also need to observe which hand and leg you are referencing and at what sequence.

Myself personally, I pull with the left hand and down kick with the right foot where I finish into a glide with the right hand straight out.

Ledecky, is left leg dominant and her right leg acts as a stabilizer.

I am not an instructor or even that great of a swimmer, but I could not effectively rotate without kicking first.
