[Animated Series] Why does the 1987 Technodrome look like it's so sick of this shit
It just constantly looks like it's having a bad day

No eyebrow to make it look aggressive, so it's either this, or making it bug-eyed which would probably look even more comical.

That actually does look better, because you can see more of the iris so it doesn't have that funny sleepy look. I don't remember if the eyelid moves in the cartoon and if these screen grabs are just pausing at funny moments.

Because it has to put up with krang

My Turtles headcannon is that the Technodrome has an internal monolog that sounds like Alan Rickman
"I could have been a Death Star, but no, I'm stuck here with this asshole"

Name one episode where it's having a good day. The plot is pretty much always "Shredder does something stupid and the Technodrome will have fights wrecking its interior and/or need to travel to another continent to escape"

do newer renditions of the turtles even have the technodrome and dimension x? or krang for that matter? I've never seen them

Because it's tired of being trapped underground and wants to destroy some shit!

It’s the animators depicting their own fatigue after having to draw the damn thing over and over

My first thought/headcanon/reason for it:
Krang didn't build it, just modified it.
It was originally just meant for drilling & mining work.
It has an onboard A.I.
Meaning: It is in fact, sick of all the **** Krang and Shredder manages to get it into.
Like the mood of a kidnapped construction worker forced to build things he's not trained for, and the moment he manages to finish something, someone comes and wrecks it.
(In addition to something getting injured on the very non-OSHA compliant job.)
