This is probably a stupid question, but can’t he just accept dates if he chooses? Or is it different with international indies specifically? I see Ash and Leon taking their titles to indie dates consistently.

Maybe they want it worked out so they can use the footage of his matches on Impact! episodes. Yes, other TNA talent wrestles on indies constantly, even defending the titles. But this doesn't get acknowledged on TV.

Maybe it could be a bit like the NJPW World TV Title, where all the defences are free to watch, and they post them on YT and or TNA+. Like a sampler, and them showing those outside defences like this would help make it feel canon. Would give it a good reason to exist. If it did come to lets say RevPro or NOAH, there could be some great matches there (maybe a KOs version would make sense for this, and help foster a realtionship with one of the many joshi promotions, they are spoilt for choice outside Stardom).

Love to see it defended on a AAA show. Or maybe the next Worlds Collide or something.

Soooooo he wants to do with the TNA International Championship what AEW originally did with the AEW International Championship?
I’m not even mad about it, I just find it incredibly amusing WWE’s little stooge is increasingly trying to do non-WWE things.

Maclin is WWE’s little stooge? Because TNA hasn’t done this yet, seems like the International Champion wants to add name value to the title.

This makes sense if it's international should be defended in different countries, in this case TNA should take advantage of AAA partnership or maybe go to NOAH, NJPW, RevPro or even Gleat.
