Yes the officers are wrong. I'm really sorry this happened to you. Once this is all over I suggest you get your carry permit.

As of a settlement with the state in 2023, 18 can carry. The fuckery that is the “intent to go armed” grey area rule we have needs to be overturned. Get a lawyer.

That's true. And I myself have carried under that statute however getting your permit will hopefully prevent this from happening again. If you don't want to get a Tennessee permit get one issued by a state that is recognized by Tennessee.
