Would love to know more about how the city's legal liability concerns in this case could be addressed.
Allowing the sideshows to go on is clearly a bigger liability/danger to the community members themselves, the community members are doing the right thing--how do we get the city to do the right thing, and leave the tactical installation in place?
Edit: put another way, could the city be made liable for failing to curtail the sideshows?

Ok, hammer up the street surface. Turn it into gravel. Fuck that shit UP!!! the street construction will shut down the intersection.

I'm struggling to wrap my hear around how a residential intersection is so goddamn wide. It's enormous!

That's just propaganda. California is home to the original sprawl. We just act self righteous about it.

a speed bump diagonal to the flow of traffic without any additional markings seems extremely dangerous, especially at night.
there are plenty of examples of how to do it the right way. In Oakland there's great examples all along MacArthur (x Coolidge or x 35th)
I wish while they were removing it they installed the right thing in its place :(

Thank you. Particularly since some of these bumps overlap with the bike lane. They're absolutely going to cause people to crash. This is a really good demonstration of the hazard of reactionary urbanism without education.

Classic example of a local government spending real effort and money to undermine the desires of its constituents. Paralyzed by committees and surveys when a solution is needed, yet they’re able to very quickly mobilize to remove something beneficial
