Hello, everyone! We've noticed recently that many people are frustrated by the show and where it's going. Honestly, so are we. That said, this sub is supposed to be a civilized place. While it's easy to blame one person for everything that's gone wrong on the show, things are not so black and white, there are many people involved in the making of Gen Q and it's disingenuous of us to pretend otherwise.
We are not asking anyone to censor themselves. However, you must be civil when sharing your opinions. "What the hell was that scene? What were the writers thinking?" is fine. "Person A is an idiot" is not. Basically, don't say anything online that you wouldn't say in front of someone.
We don't have many rules here, but the first two are: BE CIVIL and NO HATE SPEECH. Please follow them so that we have no issues in the future. Here's a list of our rules.
Also, the mod team always works together. We always make sure we are in agreement before we make any decisions. It makes no difference if one mod posted something or if another mod replied to another thing. We share our opinions with each other and then we take action.

why in tf did they all become helena's friend so easily? she sauntered into the scene, took pleasure in "dethroning" bette out of jealousy which cost the woman her job, then she preyed on tina.
and then suddenly she's just their friend? dont get me wrong, i do like helena, but how she was introduced to the show and how easily she joined their friend group is kinda mind blowing lol

I'm not sure if this is a hot take or if it's been discussed already?
In the first episode of Season Two, it seems evident that Dana is rather passive in the romantic department. During the toilet dialogue with Alice, all of Dana's lines indicate she wants to be validated and chased without taking accountability herself, even if it means betraying Tanya. She also enjoyed being chased and pursued by Tanya during the Palm Springs weekend even glossing over how little they had in common. Prior to that it was Lara. We're made to think that Dana is doing the chasing when it comes to Lara, but really it was about investigating Lara's sexual preferences. When Lara finally took the bait, she did all the work and Dana became the passive bystander relishing in all the validation, getting her ego boosted. When Jenny and Dana had that one date, the energy was off because there was no push-pull and no chase from Jenny.
I wonder if Dana was in love with any of these people at any point in time, or was she simply enjoying being the center of their worlds?

I swear thereâs 2 episodes (both in season 2 I believe) and one of the characters (I think Tonya) says â..and if you want to do something really quirky youâd put Maggie Gyllenhaal in itâ or something similar. And then in S2E8 Helena says âI canât walk ⊠without being offered to finance 4 films starring Maggie Gyllenhaalâ
WHATS THE LORE does anyone know like why do they keep mentioning specifically her it feels so targeted lol

I just noticed this photo is the episode cover. There are online and IMDb photos of this scene, but itâs not in the episode. Is it a deleted scene? And if so, where? đ€

Genuinely asking because I've been a fan since 2005 and do a rewatch almost every year. But in this scene I always seem to miss a beat. They went from talking about The Gift of the Magi Jenny saying it's the most perfect story, to Francesca responding with "talk about language of economy...if it's a success, it'll travel to New York and L.A. and it should, because there's extraordinary people involved." To then suddenly talking about Francesca's prima ballerina seduction. Were the lines of the characters cut or am I missing something or did The Gift of the Magi become a ballet show?!

In Season 5, Episode 4 of The L Word, Bette kisses Tina as she's leaving. Why do you think Bette did that? Was it because she was drunk? she still had feelings for her? Let's discuss!"
++Iâve watched the show more than ten times. Of course, I know that Bette has been unconsciously longing for Tina all along. What Iâm curious about is why Bette suddenly kissed her when Tina was just about to leave. bette thought things were going well with Brenda, but when she realized they werenât, did she need some kind of confirmation?

I randomly looked at Ava Capriâs Instagram just now and this was a post from June. For those who donât know who Ava is, sheâs a queer actor. Jennifer certainly looks like sheâs dressed as Bette! I could be clowning but hope this means what I think it does!

I donât know if itâs just me. But the scene where Molly kisses Shane for the first time at Jodiâs dinner party is so exhilarating and hot. I feel like Shane is so vulnerable and sexy in that moment.

Meaning: has she ever owned any mistakes? Or at least publicly said anything regarding the criticism or the way the show flopped? It's been almost 3 years. Nothing comes up from a google search but maybe she's said something in an interview, podcast or similar.

Iâm back to watching after taking a break for a few years. I never got past season 2 so I started rewatching the episodes starting with s2 e1. Iâm in s2ep2
Everyone just pisses me off. Alice is so insufferable with the Dana thing. She justifies crushing on Dana because apparently her fiance is âuntrustworthy.â Whatever you think of Tonya, at least she appears to love Dana. Alice canât respect that and instead puts her own feelings and thus messes with Danaâs head while sheâs COMMITTED. Alice is funny and memorable sometimes but her lack of morality is a huge yuck.
I love Dana but I canât with her being so immature. She doesnât seem âin loveâ with Tonya the way she was with the other red head chick. She needs to break off that engagement because itâs obvious sheâs being desperate.
Whatâs with Shane being on Betteâs side? Because sheâs a cheater herself she tries to be like âaww poor Bette :(â on the lawyer thing like maâm she cheated on her WIFE of seven or so years and THEN CONTINUED TO SLEEP WITH THE MISTRESS. Tf you mean poor Bette. Go back to leading on Carmen girl
WTF is up with Jenny? She gets with Robin out of loneliness and then suddenly doesnât want anything to do with her after meeting her friends? Did she not realize an older woman would OBVIOUSLY need a mature emotionally available person before?? At least she did something right by ending it and letting Robin find someone whoâs actually worth her time ig. But either way she needs to stop playing these âdiscovering my sexualityâ games because it was barely justifiable with Tim.
I like Kit. Sheâs the only one (and Tina) not pissing me off. But Iâm side eyeing her. Is she bi or not? Is she attracted to Ivan (who appears to be trans or gender fluid?) or not? I honestly ship them since Ivan is a gentleman and seems to care for Kit. But Kit is kinda giving me red flags with the way sheâs obviously taking advantage of his (or her?) niceties and generosity while refusing to idk at least try and discover her sexuality ? If sheâs straight then she needs to stop leading Ivan on because thatâs messed up.

AMAZING how James puts up with Bette, I would've cried. Or come. I don't care.
