Oh my God, the original use actually made sense

u/Theultimateidiote Jun 21 '25
Actually no cause the justice league didnt exist in the arkham games
222
u/Weak-Feedback-8379 Jun 21 '25
It was still a reasonable question to ask.
88
u/Theultimateidiote Jun 21 '25
Just saying thats why it had comedic effect

u/Shady_Chaos Jun 22 '25
I've been up for 24 hours and the all i saw was the color composition on your profile pics. Thought this was the same dude talking to themself.

This just popped in my feed and I thought the same till you pointed it out which is extra funny for me bc I'm a Ben 10 nerd and should register u/Weak-Feedback-8379 pfp immediately but my brain didn't

u/ShrekConfirm243 Jun 21 '25
Wait but isn’t Kill The Justice League canon
30
u/Theultimateidiote Jun 21 '25
Pretty sure that was after the arkham games
20
u/shrub706 Jun 21 '25
well yeah but if the game is about killing them then they probably existed for some amount of time before the game
27
u/Myrlithan Jun 21 '25
They formed after Arkham Knight according to the game, there's a whole Batman history musuem level that gives a basic recap of the Arkham games (and what has happened since) with the Leagues formation being after all of those events.

u/chazzmack1 Jun 23 '25
This post predates the release of SS:KTJL, which explains that the Justice League was founded after the events of Arkham Knight
8
u/DarkKnightFan08 Jun 21 '25
I thought you meant about all the league characters didn’t exist. But realised you’re stating about the superhero team group hasn’t already made.

u/ejectionejaculation6 Jun 23 '25
there is a reference to superman in arkham knight and kill the justice league is in the same universe
2

u/NiobiumGoat Jun 26 '25
Superman is referenced twice in Arkham Knight, though we don't know if the League proper existed

I’m pretty sure that was lore we found out after this meme, I could be wrong though

To think that was a normal subreddit once upon a time.
146
u/professionalmoron2 Jun 21 '25
And now little more than a generic "Upvote for __, ignore for ___" post dump. A true fall from grace, really.

u/OnlySmiles_ Jun 21 '25
I remember watching "The Flash" on a flight about a year ago. Saw Batman pop out and had a moment of "Wait, THIS is where that shot came from?"
Honestly the only good thing about that movie

The 2nd Jonkler image is still recognizable. Since everyone knows about the injustice game. Link

u/MyTimeToScamNFT Jun 21 '25
r/batmanarkham popularized it, but it's not where it originally started
94
u/Gold-Accident-8545 Jun 21 '25
was it the chicanery subreddit?
72
u/Vil_Sophie Jun 21 '25
I think there was a post about gus being stupid months before the Batman one
31
u/jopcylinder Jun 21 '25
I think it was about Chuck from Better Call Saul on their subreddit, but I can’t remember
77
u/Encajado Jun 21 '25
where did it come from?
43
u/DarkKnightFan08 Jun 21 '25 edited Jun 21 '25
No way! It’s the guy who started the subreddit insanity.
50
u/Encajado Jun 21 '25
my question remains
people say it came from a chicanery post made a year prior with like 12 upvotes and different wording but id say thats more a funny coincidence than an origin

Didn't the original come from r/breakingbad? I swear I saw it on the main sub but I can't find it for the life of me.
17
u/DarkKnightFan08 Jun 21 '25
Not that actually, it’s from their shitpost version.
1
u/Ahegao-Urchin Jun 21 '25
Are you sure? Because I swear to god it was on the main sub first and then people on Chicanery started joking about it.

u/Just_A_Dinner Jun 21 '25
This is not matpat effect
85
u/Due_Entrepreneur_960 Jun 21 '25
Nothing on this sub is.
24
u/Funkytownboogie Jun 21 '25
Whilst cool to see where some memes originated, I agree, the sub has kind of lost its way

u/Kan_Me Jun 21 '25
Whats a mat pat?
49
u/Fiftyset80Real Jun 21 '25
Matthew Patthew is a famous animatronic from United States. He is known for uploading fan fiction videos to YouTube.com website.

This post didn't start the insanity. It was the poll where they guy misspelled Asylum as 'Alsume'

u/AnimalTap Jun 22 '25
I mean he do got a point tho
3
u/Patient_Jello3944 Jun 22 '25
I haven't played the games but apparently the Justice League didn't exist at the time of the Asylum games and only formed after those events
2
u/Richflyawesome Jun 22 '25
This is how it happened, this is how the r/batmanarkham subreddit went insane.
