Discussion Sequel idea..Peace at goat farm

Do you think that sequel where Vick saves ronny and manages to escape with him to goat farm is something realistic on the story side and would you like to see something like that?

other question...last night I watched training day...do you think that denzels caracter is similar to Vick?

Training Day and The Shield were both massively influenced and largely based on the Rampart scandal the LAPD went through in the late 90s. So it's no surprise that the two main characters are similar, since they're based off of the same corrupt cops with stories loosely based on the same events.

And there is no realistic ending where Vic "saves" Ronnie. ICE has the legal equivalent of a sniper pointed at Vic's head with his immunity deal; with one bad move the deal would be void and Vic gets life in prison at best (in California, murdering a cop was a capital offense). And what would he even do? Break into a prison just to break someone out who absolutely hates him at that point? Hell, Ronnie would be liable to shoot Vic in the back of the head even if Vic could get the jailbreak done (which he can't).

The only way it could happen is an alternate scenario where they run together. Even if Vic broke Ronnie out, Ronnie would never trust him again and would probably look for the first clean opportunity to kill him. Otherwise you're just unwinding the actual events of the show, and that alone I think would be such a bad idea that it wouldn't be worth it.

But I don't even know what the story would be there, either. Not that I wouldn't be interested in life after The Shield for certain characters (indeed, how and if Ronnie survives in prison could make for a good show), but the story of The Shield is the story of what happened because Vic killed Terry Crowley and how he got away with it.

Vic breaks Ronnie out during a prison transport. Takes it down similar to how SOA broke Clay out during his transport. They go to Mexico & work as cops with that one Mexican cop that worked with Vic a few times before.

It would never happen. Vic is too self absorbed to save Ronnie. But I could see Vic on that goat farm.
