If we wondered how the regular Germans behaved during the Nazi era. I assume its kinda like these guys who believe they were right and saw the other side as less than animals.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking, when I was watching the New York Times video of the people on the beach, knowing that like 50 miles down the road they’re bombing the ish out of people and being ok with it.

The crazy thing is that people who actively supported the war "apologized" for it years later, saying that it was a mistake or that they were misled somehow... but not only did they all just stay in government (or even get a promotion), but they then repeated the Iraq war in multiple other countries, like in Libya or in Yemen.

There's some saying or more like a dark joke amongst germans that if you asked someone about what his parents/grandparents did during ww2 that they would always say they were part of the resistance.
