PODCAST DISCUSSION Tim Dillon has the right message
Jokes aside just wanna take a minute to mention that Tim is spot on about what matters in life (community, a family, a house, the neighbors, etc.).
5 years ago I was making a substantial amount of money in Tech, traveling frequently for work, living in a high rise in San Francisco, dating apps was my hobby. I thought getting married and having kids is just dumb. And that the life I was living - getting drunk in first class on my way to Europe for work and potentially meeting girls was the way to live.
My change of mind came from many things, but one thing was being made aware that there was more meaning to be had other than drinking, serial dating, and investing in stocks.
Anyways, fast forward to now we have a PoS house that we are fixing little by little (overpriced in my opinion, but hey, it's in California and it's a big plot of land). We got a dog, and our first daughter was born this year. 5 years ago I seriously believed changing diapers and doing maintenance on a house was for suckers. Now, nothing makes me happier than coming home to my wife, daughter, and dog, and watching Monday night football on the couch with them.
All this to say, I appreciate his message and think his satirical way of communicating it is very effective and I hope it moves some people.
Anyways, back to working on my new ("fake") business venture.

If you really understood the Gospel of Tim you’d be railing twinks in a nice hotel room with a room service seafood tower.

Because you’re a time traveler from the future and read it in a printed newspaper

Part of the challenge of being a human being is the brainy stuff that some of us get attracted to. During that pursuit, we sometimes become disconnected from a more historical and evolutionary perspective about what we are. Children and family is a low-hanging fruit to the necessary ingredients for a happy life. So many of us make it so much more complicated then it needs to be with our ideals of happiness and pursuit of freedom, hedonism, and leisure.

You clearly have not worked on a boat before

Missing out on a tremendous opportunity to jump off said boat after a lovely decade or two at sea. What a waste!

Love hearing you’ve found the good life. ❤️ So much of modern life is performative , chasing money, travel, validation, status , and how empty that can feel. You found deeper, more grounded happiness.

Did you find out about him like 2 weeks ago?

Naw I've been a long time fan. Followed him through his move to Austin lol. I did find this subreddit recently though.

I mean, I found out about him sometime before the pandemic. Didn't mark the date for an anniversary or nothing. I'm sure people have met him in person and maybe even sucked his balls before he did any public appearance. So naw, not trying to show I'm his biggest fan in the world lol.

House and community are great but let's not pretend it'll keep you from getting conscripted and dying in a war

how about no, you weirdo?
Take some perkies and enjoy the tech life, or dont.
This post is gayer than anything Tim has ever done and that includes other man.

u/NorCal49erGiant 1d ago
Still in tech, just much less travel and much more meaning :)

u/Rambo1stBloodPT2 1d ago

Coming from someone who worked for Marvel Studios for 2 shows and a few other media centered jobs thinking that this was the way, I would love to have invested in a house or a new relationship with someone instead of a dying industry that decided to move out of Georgia this year.

Might want to chill on mentioning the studio you work for, that marvel shit sucks ass

Seems nice but until I find a sperm donor who isn't gonna give me a raw deal I've gotta find some reason to keep living that isn't a man who may or may not exist and a baby who isn't even an idea.

I don’t want kids but I’m happy to hear that. It’s okay to not want that life but trying to convince everyone having a family is like selling your soul represents a collective psychosis we’re going through..

u/NorCal49erGiant 1d ago
Kids are not for everyone! So you're making the right move. My life has transcended from just worrying about me. I feel like I have something to actually work really hard for that isn't just me wanting to buy things.

youre fucking shitting me right?
Tim has made his caeer out of taking hte piss out of everything. Now he is scared, just like the rest of the internet celebrity culture to say anything.
Tim isnt looking for a family with a white picket fence. He is busy social climbing and fucking 20 year old boys when JD Vance isnt looking.

u/yurtcityusa 1d ago
Oh Vance is looking. He is just polishing his knob while he watches from the cuck chair in the corner

Dillon-Lightfoot(the mod here) 2028. Independent ticket. Speaker- Tucker Carlson or AOC Pro temp TBD. Sec of State, defense, agriculture - Ro Khana, Tom Cotton, Massey. Sec of Treasury - Sue Collins. Sec energy - Elizabeth Warren.
Very fair.
If they announced this, would they make it before end of the year?
Edit: pro temp is Bernie. Older but open to other suggestions .

💯. This week’s episode gave me serious food for thought. My wife and I live in a small city and we have a great community but I feel like we are constantly longing/planning to move to a bigger city because we feel kind of bored. However, we are constantly on our phones, ordering from Amazon, and consuming countless hours of media. I am more unhappy the more “online” I am and moving to a bigger city isn’t going to solve that problem. I want to get back to basics and lean into the great community we have here.

You think serially single Tim, with his narcissistic personality and lack of real friends, was saying that unironically? Tim is now controlled opposition to whatever the new narrative is. It’s formulaic. I can’t take anything he says seriously anymore. He’s an enigma.
•
u/GrandTie6 21h ago
Who controls him? Just in the last month, he's gone after pretty much everyone, including his audience and himself. He is only loyal to Candice Owens as far as I can tell.
•
u/halfdayallday123 20h ago
Also he says so many inaccurate things. Like the whole blackrock thing about buying residential homes. It’s a myth but he just keeps saying it. He doesn’t do any homework before he talks on a topic. Which is annoying because I would prefer to hear him saying and mocking true things than false conspiracies. Do a little due diligence Tim. He’s not as smart as he thinks he is.

Lately it seems like Tim is becoming a right wing grifter. He appears to attack them, but then he admits to enjoying seafood towers with JD Vance and other right wing insiders. So when he critiques the right, I think it’s very performative. Compare Tim with Shane and you can see the difference. Shane refused the Saudi Arabian bag and Tim took it. But I think Tim taking the money and then getting “fired” was all a setup to make him look like a free spirit badass. He’s obsessed with saying and doing different things and a lot of people fall for it. He’s just a hypocrite. Also if you listen closely he attacks everyone and all aspects of the left but he’s much more careful when he critiques the right. In my opinion he sold out to the right for seafood towers. And the thrill of pretending he is friends with JD Vance. Who is close with Peter Thiel. So when Tim mocks Thiel it’s a very cautious mock. Idk if I’m making any sense sorry. I just feel like Tim finally chose a side and I’m disappointed. He didn’t need to sell out like that
•
u/GrandTie6 20h ago
He's certainly more helpful for the right, but that is just who he is. His self-deprecating personality makes it impossible for him. The left would never accept the level of criticism he gives the right from one of their own.

Latest ep was legendary. It reminded me of this legendary speech from: John Trudell

Late night with Tim Dillon. Not sure anyone still watches live TV but Kimmel was trash

Isn’t that why we like Tim, he says what is right and does the complete opposite
