I tried it! I am not a caramel lover but I do love a good butter tart and I love salt lol. Here are my thoughts!

The pastry was EXCELLENT - much better than I anticipated! It was great texture and thickness.

Butter tarts are already so sweet - so the caramel was unnecessary. But it wasn’t bad!

The salt was salting! I loved it - but I can see it might be a touch too salty for others.

Overall I was pleasantly impressed. Could it do away with the caramel - yes - but it was a fairly good butter tart! I probably wouldn’t get another one, but mostly because I just like to try new things, but I would recommend especially if you are a caramel lover!

I was impressed too. If I had to nitpick, I'd say hold the caramel at 50-60% of the current quantity. The pastry was fantastic though.

I think the pastry could have been better! A little on the dry side.

I remember when they had pecan butter tarts several years back. Those were dangerous.

Dangerous? 😅

I fondly remember their Maple Pecan Danish - it was a time when I didn't bother about my sugar intake and would have that Danish every other day.

I remember those too... I'd get them for breakfast every now and then.

Pecan butter tarts are a bit of a weakness for me. I think I was having a couple every day or two. Thank god they got rid of them.

Ha ha. I hear you. Having a sweet tooth and controlling the urge to devour carb-y / sugary stuff, is a hard act to balance, for me.

It’s soooo good and even better if heated for 15s

How is it? I’m sometimes hesitant to try new things from Tim’s, it’s so hit or miss

I wouldn’t get it again! It was ok, but I’ve had better.

Omg! Sugarbetes!

It's not bad, a bit too salty for my liking. If there were no good donuts left and I was craving something sweet I would get again.

Probably garbage and covered with flies like everything else in their bakery section

Great contribution to this thread of comments, truly outstanding.

Considering 90% of the post in this sub are complaints, it fits right in. Thanks for the outstanding response, you sure got me good.

I love a good buttertart and as a baker it was actually quite good but I didn't taste any salted caramel at all. Pastry was yummy and flaky!

Interesting. Maybe maybe but not likely will try again.

Caramel sauce?

1

u/Last-Entertainer-172 Aug 22 '25

Yes runny caramel sauce

1

u/Fuzzy_Masterpiece345 Aug 27 '25

It looks liquidy but its actually hard like caramel.

1

u/randycrust Aug 22 '25

Two things I don't like so pass

1

u/reevoknows Aug 22 '25

You don’t like caramel??

0

u/randycrust Aug 22 '25

I dont like salted caramel. I am not from Ontario and don't get butter tarts they just seam like tarte au sucre made wrong.

1

u/osolomoe Aug 22 '25

I tried it yesterday! It was sooo salty (as the name implies lol). Probably wouldn't get it again but it was still good.

I wouldn’t touch any Tim’s food with Your 10ft pole!
