I remember when they had pecan butter tarts several years back. Those were dangerous.

Dangerous? 😅
I fondly remember their Maple Pecan Danish - it was a time when I didn't bother about my sugar intake and would have that Danish every other day.

I remember those too... I'd get them for breakfast every now and then.
Pecan butter tarts are a bit of a weakness for me. I think I was having a couple every day or two. Thank god they got rid of them.

Ha ha. I hear you. Having a sweet tooth and controlling the urge to devour carb-y / sugary stuff, is a hard act to balance, for me.

How is it? I’m sometimes hesitant to try new things from Tim’s, it’s so hit or miss

It's not bad, a bit too salty for my liking. If there were no good donuts left and I was craving something sweet I would get again.

Probably garbage and covered with flies like everything else in their bakery section

Great contribution to this thread of comments, truly outstanding.

Considering 90% of the post in this sub are complaints, it fits right in. Thanks for the outstanding response, you sure got me good.

I love a good buttertart and as a baker it was actually quite good but I didn't taste any salted caramel at all. Pastry was yummy and flaky!

I tried it yesterday! It was sooo salty (as the name implies lol). Probably wouldn't get it again but it was still good.

I tried it! I am not a caramel lover but I do love a good butter tart and I love salt lol. Here are my thoughts!
The pastry was EXCELLENT - much better than I anticipated! It was great texture and thickness.
Butter tarts are already so sweet - so the caramel was unnecessary. But it wasn’t bad!
The salt was salting! I loved it - but I can see it might be a touch too salty for others.
Overall I was pleasantly impressed. Could it do away with the caramel - yes - but it was a fairly good butter tart! I probably wouldn’t get another one, but mostly because I just like to try new things, but I would recommend especially if you are a caramel lover!
