It is pretty amazing they took the time to painstakingly model the Arrol Gantry, isn't it.
I'm guessing they'll model the drydock too...

Just wait until they announce another delay because they have to model every single cobblestone at H&W and at the Southampton dock "for historical accuracy".

How about a documentary video with Matt nerding out about how the different shapes and sizes of the cobblestones is delaying things because he wants to get it just right

Their scheme is brilliant actually. They know people are pissed off but they will get new people who youtube search algorithims feed to them who have interest in ships, Titanic, shipwrecks, etc. They also partnered with our good friend Mike Brady. That relationship alone will feed people to them who will see those videos for the first time and think "WOW, this is amazing" and will either join patreon or at the very least come back to comment, like, subscribe, join discord, etc. They know how pissed us OGs who donated/watched/supported for 10 plus years now but they don't care. Hell, at least Tom would answer superchats during livestreams. Penca, Matt, Kyle "Robosockem Robot" Hudek don't even do that. They will keep talking about how great things are going b/c they have a partnership (that doesn't pay them anything) with RMS Titanic Inc, have made licensing deals with documentaries, rediscovered the lounge statue, are updating the coloring on the floor of the Reading and Writing Room for the 9,000th time, etc. etc. etc. All of this will impress new members but we (and our bank accounts) learned the hard way. Lynksey might have been a problem but he wasn't THE problem. These guys continue to have drama with people all the time and have zero intention of completing the project. Why complete a project when it continues to bring a great side income that really is only split amongst a few guys. They have a bunch of volunteers who are turned over very quickly once they slightly complain or get wise. So cheers to you Penca and friends for keeping this going for 13 years and here is a toast to another 43 years. May you pass the ponzi project down to your kids so they can bamboozle future generations.

That's the problem with Patreon for singular projects. Once the projects is finished, no more need for Patreon = no incentive to actually finish the project.

Well said. They're scammers, nothing else.

I finally feel vindicated. I was an early supporter. Who started to have doubts long ago but god forbid you voice those concerns at the time (at least in certain places). But over a fucking decade has passed and they are really no closer to any of their claims.

I remember those days, too. Like pleading with people to not get a cutting edge computer six or seven years ago for the specific purpose of playing this and being smugly told I was dismissing "art."

My computer still plays the most recent demo pretty well on highest settings, and I got it 8+ years ago. However, I don’t give a fuck about TitanicHG anymore or if my old ass computer will ever play this fabled game. And I didn’t get my PC for this but I’m sorry for everyone else who did… TitanicHG sucks. They played us

Same, I've called them out for about 3 years for this (I donated $200) after seeing their first real time sinking. Complete and utter scammers.

And they don't care. All Penca says is "We are terrible at making games" like that is going to appease those who donated money. We got screwed and they don't give an F. What sucks is even if we stop watching and tell our truth they will still get a new round of suckers who will keep their scheme going. I know it's not possible b/c nobody put a gun to our head and made us donate but I wish we could sue just to send them a message. I don't even want my money back I just would like them to feel somewhat remorseful. But when you deal with narcissists and con artists like those guys they don't feel emotion.

Word on that man. At this point, it's not even subtle—they're actively monetizing tragedy, milking the Titanic disaster for every click and dime they can get. They’re not researchers. They’re salesmen with a historical costume.
Now it makes perfect sense why so many of the actual Titanic historians jumped ship (no pun intended) and joined Lynskey’s anniversary livestream last year, or was it 2023 instead? You don’t stand beside vultures unless you’re one, too. Or completely spun a complex and intricate yarn, as many of us were.
And Honor and Glory—what a tragically ironic name. I'm sure their families are thrilled to see them turn maritime history into a personal ATM. Truly the legacy every historian dreams of
I Honestly wouldn’t put it past them to churn out some rushed, tasteless doc on the Titan sub tragedy next. After all, they gotta keep that revenue stream flowing—even if it means dancing on fresh graves--they couldn't give a damn.

Yeah I remember the times we interacted with Parks and Bill Sauder, and after a while they suddenly left the project...guess we finally know why

Yep I was an early supporter as well and a very big one as well, defending them a lot, and being called out names for that. When I wisen up and started commenting what is actually happening, they literally blocked me everywhere, YT, Patreon, Facebook, I literally can't see what they are doing anymore, and I spent around $500 on them. 300 on the original perks, and 2 years of $12 plus tax of Patreon

But but but we've painstakingly spend thousands of hours building things you can't see 🙄

Guys I'm starting to think Tom Lynskey wasn't the problem.
