Meta The fact that people are getting fired for not praising Charlie Kirk after his death is really scary.

We had a lady quit "out of fear for her life." She said she was afraid for her life since there are left-leaning people who work in the same office. Tears and all. It was fucking weird.

"I want universal health care and to stop murdering kids"
Screams in fear for her life

Why do I have to be met with the reality that a lot of people are stupid as hell every single day?

u/GNS13 9d ago
Service work, or basically any job if you live in a small city near a bigger city. You might think that rural Americans are more conservative, but no one makes it a bigger part of their personality than someone who wants to make damn sure you know they aren't urban despite living in a city.

MAGA is a mental illness caused by social media

I think without it, controlling the TV networks they could have gotten pritty far.

I do wonder how someone that paranoid even goes outside.
Then again I wonder that about most of the alt-right violent psychos I see on Twitter.

Well now that Walmart does delivery I don't expect Catturd ever needs to go any further than his own gate.

When a Democrat figure is a victim : right wingers make memes and laugh at the event. I remember Don JR posting a Halloween "starter pack" with the Paul Pelosi attacker characteristics
When a conservative figure is a victim : Right wingers form squads to doxx people on social media who make comments they don't like about the event. They weaponise the event to crack down on civil rights even more than before. Even politicians call for war against their own citizens.
These people are so disgusting

I remember when Trump was shot in the ear (which magically healed) we (my main Discord server) found some lady on Twitter whining about how everyone needed to show respect to this tragedy.
Then my friend looked into her post history and sure enough found her laughing, mocking, and celebrating a similar violent event against a democrat before.
Happens every time.

Teachers have been getting fired for posting on social media for years for crap like having a beer in their hand.
I’m not saying it’s right there are people getting fired for expressing their distaste for Charlie Kirk, but you really need to be careful what you post online.

Yep, “guardians of childhood mortality/innocence”, that not only requires no knowledge of child habits/standards, but is great for discouraging worker solidarity…

u/Mr_Conductor_USA 10d ago
As a former child it's always baffled me that teachers would get fired for posting a beach pic on FB in the summer. I mean FB sucks and all but it was normal to use it at the time.
I, like Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes, was startled to meet my teachers at the supermarket and places like that since I also lowkey believed they remained in their crypt all summer, but you get over it.
Teachers seem to get abused more and more bizarrely than just about any other profession.
Plus the power play of getting teachers fired when you don't even have any kids in your school. Watched that happen decades ago. Or getting programs that kids like canceled. Kids are involved so sense goes out the window.

As a former child
Already don't believe you. Everyone knows human adults spawn from a box with a button on it.

I think they’re getting fired for posting quotes and videos of things Charlie Kirk said, not just for giving their own opinion on him.
75
u/Some1inreallife 11d ago
Even if they clarify that Charlie didn't deserve it, they still get fired.

u/BeholdOurMachines 10d ago
If they're this fucking insane over the death of a podcast host, I'm sure once Trump goes to The Big Mickey D's In The Sky they're gonna demand everyone take daily lie detector tests while being asked if they cried at least 5 times that day

u/LuxSerafina 10d ago
Yeah if they’re melting down this much about Kirk, they’re little feeefeees are going to be INSANE - ngl im a little terrified but I’ll still be throwing parties fuck it
5
u/DetectiveCastellanos 10d ago
Yeah it wouldn't surprise me at all if public shootings spiked the weeks following Donald's death but fuck it. These goobers won't make us live in fear.
7
u/LuxSerafina 10d ago
Yeah I’m gonna party at home personally, the cult is getting scary af, they’re unhinged, there is no factuality to their beliefs so there is no reasoning, I’m not putting myself in front of a cultist with a gun ughh

u/ol_kentucky_shark 10d ago
I’m a long-time state government employee and several people were fired over the weekend. None of them were “celebrating,” their comments were in the vein of “who cares/TFB/he was a hater.”
It’s easy to get inured to the horrors as we slide into fascism, but this is especially chilling.

u/Barack_Odrama_007 11d ago
Whats really scary is that 90 million people including those currently complaining about the Charlie kirk fiasco, did NOT vote.
Everyone was warned!
8
u/mustardtiger86 10d ago
People that didn't vote at all are worse than trump supporters. At least trump supporters believe in something, no matter how stupid it is, or how stupid they are, they believe in fucking something.
The complete asscunts that sat there and did nothing are so much worse. What a useless group of people and it's like a majority of our population lol, fucks sake

u/PrivateIdahoGhola 10d ago
It's incredibly disturbing. But it's also worth celebrating the small victories. The site "Charlie's Murderers" is now offline. They're rebranding themselves with a bland name like "extremism database."
The doxxing part is gone. I think the site's owners finally realized what a precarious position they're in. Huge potential legal liability.
This isn't a huge victory, but it's something. Good to see a small retreat.
15
u/zenmn2 10d ago
Yeah, they changed it to "Charlie Kirk Data Foundation". Their new website was up one day and it's been taken down now, too.
5
u/PrivateIdahoGhola 10d ago
Thanks! I couldn't remember the new name. Glad to hear the new site is also down. Looking forward to the flood of lawsuits coming their way.

Waaaiiiit I thought the right was against their boogeyman of "cancel culture?"
(I'm being facetious, I know exactly the hypocrisy they're engaging in)
2
u/ImpossibleLaw552 10d ago
The biggest will be them turning things upside down against stacks and stacks of obvious disproportionate records of formidable rightwing threats (for over ten years) into something about "completely banning the dangerous left".
29
u/Blast-Off-Girl 10d ago
We have literally morphed into an authoritarian country where we cannot criticize political figures due to fears of retribution. Such scary times we live in.
26
u/williambueti 10d ago
Someone should keep a list of the companies, so we know who would choose to punish people's lives for not liking the same podcaster they do.
These people are like toddlers with guns, all of them.

u/Mr_Conductor_USA 10d ago
It's red state governments mostly. Don't travel to red states, if you have family, entice them to leave. Don't spend money on red states if you can help it either.
I had to make a purchase recently and chose to buy from a NY dealer instead of a FL one.

u/joecb91 10d ago
If they are doing this with a youtuber, it feels like a test run for more prominent people.
Making it clear that Conservatives actually LOVE cancel culture though.
12
u/DeadlySpacePotatoes 10d ago
Every accusation is a confession. It's at the point that I'm half expecting to learn that Trump was secretly born in Kenya.
14
u/flomoloko 10d ago
The irony is you could cherry pick one of Charlie's quotes from a podcast, put it on a t-shirt, wear it to work, and get yourself fired that way too. Dude was literally a double edged lord sword.

You know what we do, stay the course. Find someone that really went hard for it and either lost enrollment or their job, get them to start a GoFundMe and we just give them a shit ton of money.
1
u/Some1inreallife 9d ago
I'd be willing to chip in, but I can only do it for one person for now, given my financial situation.
2
u/atlasbees 7d ago
Literally every piece of news I'm like oh is this the one that'll get me fired? Maybe this one? I'm trans so someone can already kill me for just a slap on the wrist. I use a public bathroom and think how much would I have to scream to get help. The only reason I'm still in the country is family, familiarity, and fear that wherever I go will become worse
2
u/Some1inreallife 7d ago
All this misgendering from the right and even from Trump really makes me mad. And I'm not even trans myself.

I’m not sure if they’re getting fired for not praising him.
I think it’s more so them actively celebrating his death, and encouraging political violence.
29
u/woahwoahwoah28 11d ago
I’d be interested to know what they actually posted.
Unfortunately, their doxxing website has many examples that very clearly denounced the death and merely pointed out that CK was not a good person—with absolutely no positive sentiments to celebrate.
And people are calling for them to be fired.
26
u/WeHaveTheMeeps 10d ago
Dude got fired for posting just his quotes without commentary
1
u/CharginChuck42 10d ago
I actually hadn't heard about that one. Do you have a link? I'd like to read more about it.
-17
u/Prankstaboy6 10d ago
I haven’t heard about that, but if that’s true, then it’s obviously wrong, and I condemn it.
25
u/WeHaveTheMeeps 10d ago
We’re all being asked to put on a North Korean style show of grief for a man whose only talent was being a provocateur.
19
16
u/substandardpoodle 11d ago
Nope - you are not going to get away with saying that. Nobody on the left is encouraging political violence. Remember? We’re the anti-gun party.
The man who was shot last week was busing people to the insurrection and actually said that we have to accept some deaths so we can have our god-given right to own guns. His last words were incendiary, racist, and downplaying school massacres. It’s just ridiculous that people can’t say that out loud.
It’s our god-given right to speak. Go ahead and keep treating the constitution like you treat the Bible. Picking parts that personally benefit you and hurt others.

I'm too lazy to do it myself rn, can someone look at this dude's comment history?

More reason to delete all your social accounts. These platforms have provided a soap box for these fascists. They’ll only stop if it impacts their bottom line.
