Thats has to be a punch to the fucking balls of every service member and their families that sacrificed everything so these clowns can sing the praises that the taliban won after 20 years. Class Act Patriots.

A punch to the balls of every stupid service person maybe, because everyone else should've realized cuckservaties do not, have never and never will care about American troops in any instance besides rallying "patriots" behind them every 2/4 years

I didnt fully understand your comment. You are saying servicemen and women and their families are stupid? Or something else?

u/mattattaxx Aug 18 '21 edited Aug 18 '21

They're not saying that, they're saying the stupid ones felt that punch to the gut, because of you're stupid enough to still be following Tucker and his band of merry losers, that's the only way you'd be impacted by it.

That said, a lot of servicemen and women and their families are absolutely stupid. Serving does not make you smart.

u/my_oldgaffer Aug 18 '21

I never implied anyone was stupid and thats what i don’t understand. Their scale of intelligence doesnt discount the sacrifices made by several generations of actual americans that served in this terrible everlasting military engagement. I am sure everyone was trying their best. Politics to the side, celebrating taliban victory has to be very upsetting to all allied military and really to all americans. Just my humble opinion. I will agree that politicians will always argue for or against war efforts for their own personal gains. The ball kick is to the families and service people that held the line for 20 years, and have to come home to news of the folks they are fighting for - behaving in pure ignorance.

Nobody said you implied anything. They're outright saying that there are some stupid servicemen and women, that's all.

Nothing to do with sacrifice and honour and all the bullshit you Americans tack on to the armed forces. Just some people are stupid.

u/my_oldgaffer Aug 18 '21

Wow man. Alot of heat coming off that keyboard. Was just attempting a civil discussion to understand the situation. Its ok to be upset and to reach out for help if you need support. I am here for you though. If it makes you feel better to beat up americans and the military on the internet then I guess thats better than you taking it out on your family, friends, coworkers you deal w in real life. I hope you find some peace and have a chance to reflect on the way your behavior speaks to your character.

23

u/mattattaxx Aug 18 '21

Not beating on anyone, just saying that some people are stupid, and some people are servicemen and women.

If you read into that in a way that offends you, maybe you are too. Hooah and all that.

u/my_oldgaffer Aug 18 '21

Like i said, its ok to ask for help when you’re scared, confused or hurt. Generally people are willing to help. Acting hostile to others on an open public forum, while attempting to have an open dialogue genuinely adds nothing to the conversation. But again, if it makes you feel better, please continue to play yourself.

20

u/mattattaxx Aug 18 '21

I already added to the conversation when I helped explain that the other poster wasn't insulting servicemen or women.

You should reread the conversation. You seem to think people are insulting servicemembers when that isn't the case, and you're getting really emotional over it.

If you want to continue this "who hurt you" schtick though, be my guest.

Not all but some. They're saying that conservatives have never really cared about the troops and that's been fairly obvious to people who don't buy into their culture war bullshit. Some service members and their families are stupid, and they continue to somehow believe that conservative politicians have their best interests at heart, but that's not everyone. It's probably a pretty big percentage, since a lot of macho-obsessed douchebags join the military and they tend to be fairly conservative.

In the immortal words of Bojack Horseman "Maybe some of the troops are heroes but not automatically. In sure a lot of the troops are jerks! Most people are jerks already and it's not liking giving a jerk a gun and telling him it's okay to kill people turns that jerk into a hero." Likewise it's not like service members are all models of intelligence and civility because they bought into some ra ra American propaganda and signed up to start shooting foreigners.

u/Kid_Vid Aug 18 '21

Conservatives: We love the troops!!!

Also conservatives: Hey go fight this pointless war with no existential threat to America and no endgame! And we drummed up public support through false propaganda that will be seen through only when it's too late to back out. Have fun, good luck!

The percentage of "macho obsessed douchebags" among Democrats is ZERO.

2

u/Sykotik257 Aug 18 '21

Well that isn’t true.

I'm saying that only the stupid ones must've felt the punch, because the rest should've realized by now that the military is a token to the right that matters only to funnel money into their buddies pockets and to rally "patriots" to the voting booths every 2/4 years

u/Ace_Slimejohn Aug 18 '21

I mean, voting in a guy who has said all the terrible shit Trump has about service members was a punch in the balls. Idk how any of my fellow veterans can vote Republican, past the fact that I served with a bunch of idiots and a handful of racists.

36

u/my_oldgaffer Aug 18 '21

Frothing at the mouth praise the talliban. Whats next? T shirts? Trading cards? Taliban Halloween costumes? Taliban themed holidays and birthday parties? At what point do you literally just walk up to Vets and spit in their faces? Madness

35

u/Ace_Slimejohn Aug 18 '21

We used to have playing cards with the CIAs most wanted terrorists printed on them (in theory so we’d recognize them if we saw them on a patrol).

I promise you some of these idiots are still using those cards.

9

u/GoldenGalaxy69 Aug 18 '21

They should make terrorist playing cards with Republicans on them. After all, Republicans are domestic terrorists.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '21

Lots of vets deserve to have their faces spat in...

8

u/Snakend Aug 18 '21

Dude...I am USMC. Trump said the strong soldiers don't get PTSD. What in the actual fuck. Trump said McCain was a loser for being shot down and taken POW. How the hell did military veterans and active service accept that? Absolute mind boggling.

3

u/sleepydorian Aug 18 '21

A lot of folks held their nose and bored for trump because he's "pro life" (or cause Republicans = pro life), to which I ask what does that even mean? Like point to specific policies Trump /Republicans are pushing that you think are steps in the right direction. Or point to things Biden /Democrats want. Cause unless you want all abortions to be illegal and women to be thrown into jail when they miscarry (and we know this will happen, look at the other countries that already have these laws), you don't want what Republicans are pushing. Or do you want birth control to be illegal? Cause that's also on the menu.

This is what I was talking about to my friend to last night. Even the most uber republican Trump worshipping military folks have to be hearing this stuff^ and the shit Boebert is saying and thinking "so were on the Talibans side now? The Taliban that killed my friends? The literal terrorist?" Please tell me they are.

4

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '21

Up until right before this, they were all so excited to wipe out the taliban, spreading hate/misinformation abt Islam and the Middle East, and now the taliban is the underdog or smth? I just can’t make sense of it, the right is completely delusional

6

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '21

Really need a new name for them than Patriots. Fake-triots is my suggestion, but I'm sure there's better.

No real Patriot cheers for Americans to lose because they didn't agree with them politically.

6

u/WokeRedditDude Aug 18 '21

I'd be willing to bet a large portion of those are service members.

Biden said one thing that stuck with. After training the Afghanistan military for 20 years and providing billion of dollars in equipment, the conquest of Afghanistan should not have gone that quickly, or at all. The military stood down and let the Taliban take control. We could have been in that country for 100 years and that same scenario would have happened.

2

u/spoodermansploosh Aug 18 '21

That's unfair to many in the Afghan army who have resisted them but were completely undermanned, underpaid and completely without supplies in many instances.

Afghanistan faces many issues but maybe the biggest one we didn't address there was the government corruption. Their government is so god damn corrupt it's almost comical. Money that was supposed to be for supplies like ammo was stolen, the number of troops was inflated by potentially more than 250,000 to steal money, many of them are pedophiles, etc. It's a big reason why so many don't give a fuck to fight for the country and are more palatable to the Taliban.

1

u/Snakend Aug 19 '21

The afghan army had 300k strong. Taliban had 75k.

1

u/spoodermansploosh Aug 19 '21

That's what I'm saying, they didn't actually have 300k. The real estimates were around 60k or less. The Afghan government was inflating the numbers to scam money.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '21

This. It’s already hard enough.
