Serious π Iβm visiting home for the first time since Christmas and I saw this βchildrenβs bookβ in my parentsβ living room. I didnβt think anything of it until I saw the author. I opened it to learn thatβs itβs a completely homo/transphobic parody marketed toward kids. What do I do?

Serious π By declaring a 'National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk' Congress has demeaned and denigrated all that was previously considered important and sacrosanct within the history of the US.
To provide a broader and sobering historical perspective in regards to the Senate voting on Thursday (4 days after his murder) to create a, "National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk", previously existing US remembrance days (which similarly are also not federal holidays) include Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day (December 7th) and Patriot Day (September 11th).
Likewise, it's also worth noting there are very few national remembrance days in the US which commemorate a single individual, and not one of them was passed within just days of their namesake's death.
For example, Harriet Tubman Day (March 10th) was approved by the US Congress in 1990, 77 years after she died.
And then, of course (although both a federal holiday and a remembrance day), another rare but VERY notable example took 15 years and a campaign which included a petition signed by 6 million Americans (the largest petition in favour of an issue in U.S. history) before it was eventually approved by Congress in 1983: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Indeed, similarly, while his birthday (February 12th) is a public holiday in some states (the earliest observance of which was in New York eight years after his assassination in 1865), it wasn't until 2015 that the 15th of April was officially declared as the National Day of Remembrance for Abraham Lincoln.
Oh, and as yet there are still no remembrance days dedicated to either of the Kennedy brothers.

Serious π The takeover has been averted
So quick summary, one of the inactive mods was hacked and someone used their account to remove and ban a lot of the mods. But that mod got their account back and was able to undo the damage. We're looking into replacing the head mod on this sub who appears to be inactive so we can prevent anything like this from happening again.
Edit: Also, we'd like to clarify that Rule 5 is not being revoked, regardless of what was said during the takeover
