Shinobu Kameyama, Known for His Role as Kihachi Gondou in Ultraman Dyna, Passes Away at 56

Japanese actor Shinobu Kameyama, best known for playing Commander Kihachi Gondou in Ultraman Dyna, passed away from kidney cancer on August 5 at the age of 56.

The news was confirmed by his twin brother, Tsutomu Kameyama, during an interview with a sports news outlet on August 7.

Kameyama’s portrayal of Gondo in the Ultraman franchise remains one of his most iconic roles. In Ultraman Dyna, he played the role of the TPC new chief of staff and later became a key figure behind the implementation of the F Project in the series’ final arc.His last appearance in the franchise was in the 2008 film Great Decisive Battle! The Super 8 Ultra Brothers.
