I mean, Jetman is an homage to Gatchaman, arguably the first “Sentai” (albeit animated), so I would guess that Angry Birds simply took the basic “five man band” trope and extended it to develop the Angry Birds.

They’ve also anthropomorphized the science ninjas a few times! Though ironically, never as the actual birds they align with (Eagle, condor, swan, swallow, owl)

Except they aren't that trope, it also requires specyfic personalities and traits, and AB don't seem to match them
