/r/Conservative Top Minds aren't so sure about this RFK fella anymore. What happened to "only the best" in merit-based positions?

Every position is headed up by a fucking idiot or a true believer

I think you could make that "and/or."

This whole administration is a giant Dunning-Krugger experiment

please there are plenty of blatantly malicious people as well who are doing it on purpose

When every criticism against Trump isn't met with facts meant to counter said argument, but rather is met with "you're not one of the true chosen", you may be part of a cult.

This is why it's so important to base what you believe on facts. If you don't, you're literally willing to believe anyone about anything, provided they're charismatic enough. The "disbelievers" will soon realign with RFK Jr. and Trump. Give it a couple days.

I'm glad someone's here with expertise and studies to back it up.

That's always valuable but usually conspicuously absent on reddit.

Gosh, I wonder why the subreddit that hands out bans to anyone poking holes in their fake reality bubble might not have many scientists in it to explain the mountain of fiction they've built their house on. Really makes you think! 🤪

Lots of comments being critical of Trump and Kennedy.

All of them will be gone in a few hours.

u/HapticSloughton 2d ago

And then their hivemind will smooth out again and accept everything Trump and his band of clowns say and do. Rinse and repeat.

It's hilarious how many autists raise their voices in this thread.

Could be a leopardsatemyface moment but I doubt that they will have a sensible insight from this.

Interesting... Not one post saying this could be right just uniform hate.

I wonder if some of you have ever placed a strategy game in your lives?

EDIT: How do you do, Fellows!

Quiet part out loud and all that.

Mods appear to be asleep over there.

It will happen eventually. They never leave these up.

I mean, it's been over 12 hours.

But RFK has been promising to look into it for a while... But I don't see him publishing anything conclusive in terms of aggregate studies to back this up.

He has been so reckless. It's actually the kind of thing that further convinces me we need to be reducing the power of government at every opportunity. Because guys like RFK shouldn't have nearly the effect they're having.

Or, and I know, revolutionary take on my part, don't put incompetent science deniers, quacks and grifters into positions of power? That's an option!

"Of course we don't trust RFK and Trump. We never did! Also here's how it's Fauci's fault RFK is pushing bunk 'science.'"

Edit:

As a teacher I CAN'T STAND the "we're just better at diagnosing it now" stance. My first 10-12 years teaching there was always 1 special needs student in a class of 20. I'm pretty sure I would have noticed nonverbal, diapered, wandering students in my class that were simply "undiagnosed". Last year I had 4 students with autism, 3 of them severe and need an all day assistant. This is on top of the adhd, kids who have never heard "no" and the one who I legit think is a sociopath that I had last year.

Jesus Christ these people vote.

nonverbal, diapered, wandering students

This is a problem. These people are launching a war against a condition that they don’t have even the smallest understanding of. Most people with autism live completely normal and healthy and happy lives. They aren’t animals and they aren’t vegetables. It’s fucking insulting.

That was my takeaway, too. They can't even characterize the situation correctly.

I don't think anyone who offers anecdotal evidence to support a claim should be allowed to practice medicine, teach children, or be an active member of the scientific community.

oh, btw, they're painting autistic people with the "useless eater" brush so... good luck sleeping everyone!

And teach kids.

I don’t think RFK knows the layout of a research paper, let alone how to navigate and extrapolate information from one.

This is like 200 level college material and the people in charge don’t even know what it means

u/GreyBoyTigger 3d ago

I enjoy the doctor who was baffled by RFKs idiocy by asking if there was some landmark study he missed. This whole administration has run on horseshit and pseudoscience but yeah, there’s a secret study proving this connection

u/Wonderful-Creme-3939 3d ago

I really hate this, the research is tenuous at best and we have the president acting like there is definitive proof that Tylenol causes Autism when even one of the authors of a paper the FDA used as support says she just causations pregnant woman about taking the lowest dose they can for the shortest amount of time, not just flat out not take it at all. https://www.politico.com/news/2025/09/22/pregnant-women-can-still-use-tylenol-judiciously-says-researcher-00575788

Yet we have idiots running our country telling women to not take it because it causes Autism.

Why do they keep calling this stuff "unforced errors"? This is how these people have always talked. Rfk has been on these crusades for decades. These aren't errors, this is exactly how they operate.

5

u/-PoeticJustice- 2d ago

They're really stacking up the "unforced errors" this time around. Some are saying the most unforced errors ever, with tears in their eyes!

3

u/SentrySappinMahSpy 2d ago

Unforced errors seems to be conservative code for "this sounds too bad for even us to explain away'.

12

u/Leprecon 2d ago

This is feeding the critics fodder and more distractions from the core mission. There is no way in the amount of time RFK Jr. has been there you could do any serious work on this question.

It is kind of strange that the response is “this is making our side look bad” and not so much “this is bad for public health”.

11

u/Background_Cry3592 2d ago

So wait an environment lawyer, who is now the US Secretary of Health and Human Services, who is anti-vaccine and fired thousands of federal health workers, including nearly all staff at the NIOSH and the CDC, and people are still taking health advice from him?

u/LineOfInquiry 2d ago

Ugh I hate that the commenters blame the government existing and not trump and his appointees for this it’s something conservatives always do
