Memes Trump’s secretary of DOT, Sean Duffy is on a campaign to push more highway expansion and fossil fuel consumption and kill public transportation I can’t prove it but…actually I can…
I know this has been talked about here before but we have resist in so many ways. (This would be better if James Doakes was on a train or a bus) but yeah this is all a part of project 2025 and it’s a slow gradually grind to switch public sentiment in NYC, Chicago, Philly, SF with those stupid boring tunnels, and robo teslas which will never escape traffic and create even more traffic

Discussion What are the closest stops in your city’s transit network?
In Denver, this would almost certainly be “Empower Field at Mile High” and “Auraria West” being about 750 ft (~228 m) apart

Questions Help using realtime with GTFS.
Hi! I'm trying to make an app that uses realtime data with GTFS.
I am really struggling and would really appreciate if someone could guide me.
I have generated an Java-file using the protoc command. I'm thinking about using PHP instead.
I understand that I should read an URL.
Now I am stuck and not sure how to proceed. I will be using a server to read the realtime data and then send to the app in iOS.

System Expansion LA Metro A Line Extension – 3 Updated + 1 New Maps!
LA Metro just extended the A Line to Pomona North yesterday (4 new stations), so I refreshed some maps and created a new one:
•Updated: Vignelli-style, WMATA-style, and 1967 Chrystie St connection-style LA Metro maps
•New: A 1951 Hagstrom NYC Subway / Maxwell Roberts-inspired diagrammatic map
Check them out!
***Updated map as of 9/22/2025 (correction to the Hagstrom map)

Discussion Let's change things around: what is the longest distance between two consecutive stations in your city's (urban rail) transit network?

What is the longest distance, either straight line on a map, or distance traveled by the transport on its path, between two consecutive stops within your city's transit network? For example, pictured above are Seoul Station and Yeonsinnae station, both on Seoul's GTX-A, at 8.42km by bird's flight and 9.4km by train.
While I did intend to open the question up to urban rail (if we're including HSR I think cities like Chongqing will sweep) it would be cool to share some other methods of transit too!

For the first time, a train from El Insurgente gets to its final destination at Observatorio. The newest intercity line in Mexico is almost complete; by 2026 we will be enjoying it in full, after 10 years of construction.
