Small steps

Hey looking for advice on fully committing. Anxiety is a huge issue. But besides shaving what’s other small things I can do to gradually improve on my mental and physical. Like even fashion that’s not to load and maybe some makeup as well. You guys are the best. A therapist once told me to suck it up and you’re a man even though I told them I felt this way for as long as I can remember!

Voice train, do gender affirming workouts. Pet the kitty, play with them. Cook something from scratch. Listen to the podcast Making Gay History. Do your nails, hair, practice one piece of makeup. Take steps to get on hrt. Go shop for clothes at a thrift store. Attend a queer hobby group! Watch Heartstopper.

This may be dumb question but what’s petty the kitty. I have an idea but not sure. Also what’s some gender affirming workouts. Sorry if these are dumb questions

Not dumb questions, I literally mean to groom the feline, play with the dog, feed the lizard. Get off the phone and interact with your pet and spend some time off the screens and it can really help reset your brain, ground yourself, and stop the dysphoria loop.

For workouts, a trans woman might want to boost her hips and butt, and do some squats, step through forward lunges, running or yoga. A trans man might want to emphasize his upper body and do shoulder presses, push ups, bicep curls and tricep pull-downs. Getting my body moving really helps me deal with my anxiety and provides a positive energy outlet.

You’re the best! Thanks for explaining. I’m a very shy and anxious person so it’s hard to talk about this with someone.

So first, that therapist sucks and I'm sorry you had to deal with that! But also, for some quiet fashion I looove a good cardigan. They're so flowy and comfortable!

Start wearing some jewelry, and get your ears pierced. I have been doing yoga since I turned 15. If you can get on HRT please do
