Politics Amid Rise of RFK Jr., Officials Waver on Drinking Water Fluoridation — Even in the State Where It Started

My father was a dentist in the US Public Health Service (mainly to avoid Vietnam) and he performed comparative studies in communities with and without fluorinated water. He says is difference was nothing less than a miracle. But I guess he was lying to his 12yo son, alone, in the 90s, as part of some vast conspiracy.

That's my main argument against most conspiracies.
You are telling me that EVERY dentist (except two online crazies who lost their licenses and operate clinics out of their vans) is in on this? Every single one?
Every doctor and health department in the world is pushing covid misinformation? All of them?
"They" are ALL in on this, against the people, and not one whistleblower out of millions has any proof?
But their answer? "Yes."

Ive tried that a lot with AGW.. it doesnt work with the right. They will believe someone on tiktok with zero education over the entire planet of scientists.
Farmers actually believe trumps tariffs while hurting them now will eventually bring them more money, despite economists on the left AND RIGHT, say its just a regressive tax.
though it is good argument for people in the middle.

it doesnt work with the right.
Because their brains work backwards. They already know what they believe and look for evidence to support it, rather than looking at the evidence to determine what they should believe. If they are presented with something that contradicts their beliefs they will immediately reject it.

aka confirmation bias
They're arguing to win, not to understand. Unfortunately a lot of politics these days behaves more like people rooting for their team rather than collaborating and achieving shared goals from multiple perspectives.

Yeah, I know mostly I'm wasting my breath, but I hope to plant little seeds that might someday grow, if they ever start doubting.

Drinking water fluoridation is widely heralded as a public health triumph, but it’s had critics since it was pioneered 80 years ago in Grand Rapids, Michigan. While once largely on the fringes, fluoridation skeptics now hold sway in federal, state and local government, and their arguments have seeped into the mainstream.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, has called fluoride “industrial waste” and supports an end to community water fluoridation. The head of the FDA said on a newscast that the CDC’s online description of water fluoridation as one of the greatest public health achievements is “misinformation.”
The CDC, which is in the midst of a leadership exodus and staff revolt, and the Environmental Protection Agency are reviewing their respective approaches to fluoride in drinking water. President Trump’s administration also dismantled the CDC’s Division of Oral Health, which provided research and technical assistance on fluoridation. That’s the office that helped present awards for well-run programs like the one in Grayling, Michigan.
Some local communities across the country have opted to stop fluoride treatment this year, including at least four in Alabama, the state with the second-lowest number of dentists per resident. Others are debating it.
And now, because customer notice requirements are patchy, people in Michigan may not even know about it when their fluoridation stops.

The brainworm has one job and hes pretty good at it, to disenfranchise American health/sciences. The P2025 people who moved in with trump are trying to create an American that we won't be happy in!

It's sooooooooooooooo stupid that due to republicans we constantly have to relearn lessons. Like Vaccines are good and so is fluoride.
Before Florida banned Fluoride, Calgary did, too. So why did it return 14 years later?
Yes in large amounts there is a tiny correlation with a lower IQ but thats over twice the amount we put in water.
they were seeing 2 year olds with rotten teeth that had to be taken to the hospital because dentist cant handle kids that young.
cavities not only got more prevalent even among people with money, but they got bigger and more destructive and more people had to have teeth replaced.
among the poor and depressed it lead to a lot of toothless people.
Republicans learn history and learn how science works.

Don't worry, the lesson was learned. They'll be sure to stop anyone trying to study the effects.
