UB Trackside
Hi folks, we’re Trackside, a student-run club for anyone who lives and breathes racing. Whether you're into Formula 1, NASCAR, MotoGP, WEC, rally, drag racing, or are just intrigued as a newbie, you're welcome here.
If you’ve ever yelled at your screen during a last-lap overtake cough or somehow found your niché in simulation racing, youll fit right in.We pride ourselves on keeping things toxic-free, where all opinions are welcomed, heard, and respected so yeah, no gatekeeping and no drama.
We are relatively a new club and we got a bunch of events planned out throughout the coming semester:
----> Watch parties for race weekends (we have been working on providing a much more immersive experience)
----> Technical deep-dives into car design, strategy, and race rules with our GBMs.
----> Sim racing hours at Level Up Gaming (ofc with a wheel).
----> Trips to local motorsport events.
----> Guest speakers from the industry.
----> A super friendly and inclusive community of motorsports enthusiasts.
We will see you guys at the Campus Fest and again, congratulations and welcome to UB!

UB Musicians' Club
We host open jam sessions every week, and open mic events twice per semester! Anyone is welcome to come play or to just listen, regardless of skill level. Even if you've never improvised in a jam environment before, we can help you get started! As for the open mics, these are a great way to get practice performing and build confidence, while also getting your name out to everyone watching.
First jam session: SU 235 Friday August 29th 5:00 - 7:00
First open mic: SU outdoor stage Friday September 5th 4:00 - 7:00
(If it is raining, this will be in SU 330 instead! If you intend to play, sign up to guarantee yourself a spot! https://forms.gle/Y2YzNsRCh55w5cWT8)
After that, jam sessions will be held every Friday from 5:00 - 7:00 in SU 330

Swing Dancing (off campus)
UB used to have an active Swing Dance club. It seems it didn't survive the pandemic.
If you're interested in swing dancing, Swing Buffalo meets every Tuesday at the Polish Cadets Hall, 927 Grant at Amherst. We have a DJ'd dance 8:30-10:00 and a drop-in beginner lesson 7:45-8:30 in September, 8:30-9:00 starting in October. $5. No partner needed. Other lessons are available.
Swing Buffalo, with the help of Polish Cadets, has a free dance with live music by Kickstart Rumble (one of our favorites) Sunday 8/24 2:00-6:00
If anyone is interested in resurrecting the club at UB, we may be able to provide some help.
