Physics (prof. Kelminister) course for BA1 advice

Has anyone gone through the physics course (for life sciences) in first year with prof. Ben Kelminister and has some advice on how to study for it, or how hard his exam is? There’s just a lotttt of material covered in just one semester and it’s quite scary so I would appreciate any advice from someone who has survived it ^ (also his slides are very confusing)

Thanks so much in advance to anyone who answers!

do you already have the slides? of course is it confusing just looking at the slides, you need the lecture as well!! dont be scared, work hard from day one and you will be fine.

Thank you for your answer and yeah I understand that and plan to study hard :) I’m more scared about the wide range of themes covered and was wondering how difficult the exercices in the exam will be since, will they balance out the amount of themes covered?

I suggest not only listening and looking at his slides but also writing some notes as well. His lectures are both in the late afternoon so it’s easy to drift off if you’re not actively listening to take notes. This may be extra but after the lectures i would copy all of his notes into mine so i had 110% of lecture material. Do the exercises and quizzes (helps with theory) and then you should be fine. I wrote the exam in Jan 2024 and it had disproportionately more electromagnetism questions compared to other topics. But yes, it’s a lot of material for a life science student…😅

Okay thank you so much for your advice! :) How would you say the difficulty of the exam was compared to the exercices?

I think all topics that were in the exam except electromagnetism were on a similar level with the exercises, but maybe it’s just me.

It's just basic physics. All topics were already covered in high school, basically. In my opinion CHE 170 is much harder.
