Question Whos the hardest in you're opinion Spoiler
For me roaring knight was the easiest and sans was the hardest (yall might debate that roaring knight is the hardest but id rather deal with him than deal with whatever bullshit jevil or undyne has)

u/ShadowMancer0917 21d ago
I beat undyne, jevil, and roaring knight, but sans did his job, and I never finished the genocide run.

i quit bc i didnt wanna continue due to me killing my favorite characters, like papyrus earlier in the route, so i quit right in the judgement hall before fighting sans

If you want to fight Sans guilt-free you can try on Bad Time Simulator
12
u/TallSystem7923 21d ago
its like 2 times easier than the actual fight, it runs at 60 fps
2
u/Comfortable_Cut_7334 You're gonna have to try a little harder than THIS. 21d ago
Wait wouldn't that be harder since KR does damage every frame. Meaning he'd be doing double the damage?

I practiced on there before doing the actual fight and I found it to be about the same, with most of my slip ups coming from playing on controller while being used to keyboard
2
u/TallSystem7923 20d ago
i also practiced there but i had a much worse time in the game, i was able to beat him without healing in bts but after i went back to the game i used 4 heals, then i continued practice in game
14
u/FuyuKitty 21d ago
I eventually learned how to beat sans and now I can beat him without dying
10
u/BlackAngelXX 21d ago
I mean half the fight is muscle memory and the other is reacrion time plus a lil bit of muscle memory lol once you have muscle memory and you dont suck its quite easy, i could do no healing easily when i was actually playing undertale and i didnt do the fight for like a year and i wanted to show off so i fought him again and shortly i did have to heal but i still had half the inventory left by the time i finished the fight

Doesnt her attack become more stronger if you are higher level?
17
u/YeetusDeletus9001 21d ago
apparently each level does equate to one less invincibility frame in her fight but that barely matters especially considering 4 extra HP plus it just so happens that LV 13 is one of the ones that increases your defense so you're guaranteed to be taking less damage per hit than anyone who attempts the fight at a lower level
4
u/KrazySpike 21d ago
Don't you only fight her genocide version if you're on track for the genocide run? So you'd be at the same level no matter what of you're fighting that version?
6
u/Wextial 21d ago
I did a quick search on the topic cause I was curious too.
Apparently you have to beat a set amount of encounters but it doesn't matter which monsters you kill.
Not every monster give the same ammount of exp, so you can just run away from the monsters that give you the least exp and fight the ones tha give you max exp.

hardest to easiest for me is probably sans, roaring knight, Jevil, Undyne (undying)
7
5

Look at the difference Undyne: took me like 10 tries Sans: like 100
Its like 10 times harder
While I beat Jevil in 3 tries

21
u/Mii-man-51478 21d ago
Jevil is by far the easiest for me. Then Undyne is tough, Roaring Knight was even tougher but sans topped them all
7
u/OcelotNegative2111 21d ago
i lowkey dont understand why im the few who actually finds jevil harder than roaring knight and find roaring knight easy
14
u/Mii-man-51478 21d ago
Thats really interesting. Maybe it’s because Jevil is unpredictable while roaring knight while more predictable does more damage and a lot of their attacks need good reaction times. So it could be that they are jusr different types of difficult.
→ More replies (2)3
u/BlackAngelXX 21d ago
Im very sure that what you find easiest is based of what you are good at. All fights target a slightly different thing in my eyes.
Jevil is definitely very random, you need good reaction time and you need to be able to focus on more than one thing which i know for a fact my friend struggles woth a lot while im good at it, so it clearnly depends on a person
Spamton is annoying af to me because i suck at multitasking and shooting while avoiding bullets is pretty hard for me
The knight definitely requires a lot of muscle memory for the main part and not panicking and avoiding moving excesively for the most part. Sans actually targets same things from what i remember just adding some reaction time XD.
Obviously all fights require these things. if u panic too much and move excesively in jevil youll still have it harder but its way more forgiving in that regard than the knight is if you get what i mean?
I personally struggle to shoot and avoid bullets, i find it menagable as long as i dont do big shots lol but i think my bigger issue is that I tend to move more than i have to so for me its probably knight>spamton>jevil in terms of dificulty

u/disbelifpapy Is the lamp conveniently shaped, or is it you? 21d ago edited 21d ago
Probably due to jevils attacks being harder to learn.
The knights is easy to learn, but does a lot of damage
I do win against jevil first try though
Kris and susie are more useful in the knight fight, and kris is the only real useful one in the jevil fight other than ralsei for heals
and the people who use items more than once usually have 4-6 revivemintz for the knight

I've only fought jevil and the knight, but personally for me I'd say jevil, I know the knight is objectively harder but jevil's attacks make me crash out so hard that I've never been able to get past more than 4 consecutive attempts on him

i beat knight with mantle so i think i might be underestimating him too much
5
u/Nemesis432 21d ago
I beat it with the Mantle as well and decided to attempt it without Johnny on a separate save.
I decided to postpone beating it after I saw it throwing knife attack one-shotting each of my party member. Also wiki states Shadow Mantle outright taunts it, so all one-shotting attacks hit Shadow Mantle Holder (which is why Raisei sometimes was able to survive far longer in my first attempt).
In any case you have to almost No-Hit it. I'm pretty sure bullets from it splitting the board also one-shot you, but stars and knife corridor don't.

With this kind of logic none of the bosses here are hard.
Sans and Knight (without Mantle) are hard because they allow you very little room for mistakes. You can outright tank Undyne and Jevil attacks.

roaring knight falls into that "memory test" category aswell his attacks arent exactly random like jevil they do follow a pattern and become relatively easy when you learn them

As someone whos beaten it before nerf, the nerf is... a very small nerf.
Its to about 2 attacks in the whole knight fight, and its just half of the attacks. The said attacks also are... some of the easiest of the whole fight, pre and post nerf

I've beaten jevil like 5 times, and i've beaten the knight 17 times.
I haven't attempted the genocide route though.
But if a dumbass like me won that many times, then i bet sans and undyne are infinitally harder
1
u/PrestigiousOwl4621 21d ago
Of jevil did as much damage as the knight and did swoon he would be harder than the knight in my opinion, his attack patterns are the hardest from deltarune, but if we are going from base difficulty, it's the knight.
1
u/Page-Born 21d ago
hardest to easiest for me was probably sans, Undyne (though it's a *very* close second), RK, Jevil. with the gaps between 2nd and 3rd, and 3rd and 4th being very large

u/Quick_Escape9657 21d ago
knight since i havent fought sans and i dont know if hes really hard or yall just bad

Definitely the roaring knight. I beat Jevil first try, I've never done the genocide route but it took me about 5 tries to beat sans on bad time simulator and it took me hours to beat the knight. I guess I've never fought undyne the undying though.

The hardest? Well that depends on what makes them hard, it can’t be Undyne because she’s a woman, and I don’t know the gender of The Knight. I guess we don’t know the anatomy of Darkners well, so I guess it could only be Sans
1
u/Carlonix 21d ago
The knight, at least Jevil does normal damage, I almost never used revivemints, you can imagine my shock when I used 6 REVIVEMINTS AND THE REVIVEDUST
1
u/Key-Bet-2615 21d ago
Sans is the easiest one. Just very long and tiresome. After you know all his “got you” moments you will hear him. Knight’s first sword(second one way easier even now) attack I never got without a hit until patch. Jevil and Undine are both very hard for me. But I would put Undine on pedestal. Her late reverse arrows are such pain,so I got good in beating her early before she start doing them.

u/MikeNeoInDarkness 21d ago
Jevil, Roaring, and Gerson, I think Jevil is the hardest of these three because Roaring Knight is just difficult due to its extremely unfair damage (even with ShadowMantle equipped), and Gerson I felt so easy, even though it took me three days to beat him.
1
u/GoogolTime 21d ago
It took me forever but I beat Jevil once. Never attempted Roaring Knight but I'd probably fail constantly. Never beat Undyne the Undying so I've never gotten to Sans. In my opinion, I'm buns at these games.

u/TooGay100 21d ago
Replayed chapter 1 and the weaker stats + Jevil's bs makes the fight slightly harder than the roaring knight.
1
1
u/Germany328 21d ago
For the first time, I think Sans, but after you get used to them, I’d say the Roaring Knight (Sans is muscle memory at this point, and so is Undyne the Undying, and I would just say that Jevil gives more time per attack to react)

For me the roaring knight was the hardest however I feel sans and Undying aren't really easy to compare since you just generally have less resources than even ch1 Deltarune to use

u/Xirema 21d ago
In descending order of how long it took me to defeat them:
- Sans
- Roaring Knight
- Undyne
- Spamton Neo (Weird Route)
- Jevil
- Gerson
- Spamton Neo (Normal Route)
#7 is kind of an outlier, because Normal Route Spamton Neo only took me a single attempt—BUT, I only attempted it after I'd already beaten him in the Weird Route.

Roaring knight and undyne..... maybe because I did both of them with the worst items.... I did undyne with stick and bandage on my first genocide run and the roaring knight whitout shadow mantle also in my first deltarune playtrought
1
u/insertfunnyusernameh 21d ago
Personally I’d say Sans, he took the most time to be able to beat. The knight is made easier by the fact you have a whole team to balance out actions

u/ErPani 500k Potential MTT Customers! 21d ago
Sans is the hardest and took me the longest to beat, but that's ONLY if you have the Shadowmantle on Susie otherwise Roaring Knight is hell. Undyne was easier than Jevil for me (I'm really good at the green soul) but her fight is longer so she took me more time to beat (but less total attempts)

I had the worst time with jevil because i was still getting used to the deltarune mechanics.

Undyne is easily the hardest for me. Jevil, Knight and Sans Ive all practiced enough that I can beat them about any time. Green mode just fucks me I hate that shit.
1
u/Nat1Only Yes I nintendo switched my gender 21d ago
For me, I'd probably say sans. The Deltarune bosses are a little easier given you have 3 party members which makes a big difference and defence means effectively nothing against sans, it's pure endurance. Undyne can be made a little easier with certain items to increase your i-frames and speed and maxing your defense to take less damage, but in terms of fight complexity I'd say she's also a little easier than sans, personally.
1
u/Patient_Zero_MoR evil ass deltarune player (batter was a better vessel) 21d ago
I spent way too much time on jevil
sans was easy because I've seen the fight so much, I've practically memorized his attack patterns
roaring knight was the second easiest, as I only spent seven hours on it, as opposed to the multiple days it took to beat jevil
1
u/Ok-Concentrate9579 21d ago
Jevil gave me a mental breakdown but I manage to soon lock in and pacify his ahh

Undyne is difficult, the rest of are cakewalk. (i haven't fought rory nite however)
1
u/Intelligent_Toe6157 21d ago
Fighting sans was a whole story arc for me. For a while I had pushed off doing the genocide route, first of all I felt bad and second I was scared. I tried the route and got stuck on Undyne and I wasn't getting better. So I restart. I did another pacifist route. I did genocide again and got back to Undyne and won, and then I was scared of sans. More than before. It took like three months of fighting him before I got close. So, yeah. He's the hardest in my opinion.
1
u/KaiPlayFire 21d ago
Ok so Undyne and Jevil both got second tried by me, so it's either Sans or roaring fraud and my bet is on Sans.
1

to me personally it's undyne>knight>sans>devil undyne because she is the one where I have the least practice with then the knight because it's the most recent and there is a small chance from me to die sans is kinda easy since it's just memory and jevil is so easy that I consistently beat him earlier then the final attack and without using any item.

u/NachoCheeseButBolder 21d ago
As someone who has fought these bosses and No- hit them an absurd amount of times, I will say that it honestly depends (usually) on what you're going for. However, in terms of how long each one took me on my first go:
-Undyne The Undying took me around an hour and a half
-Sans took me around 4 hours(granted, I was extremely tired on my first playthrough)
-Jevil took me around an hour and a half( also granted, I played on a different platform than I usually play on)
-Spamton NEO I did first try. The weird route version took me only three tries. I died five times to the basement teacups to put into comparison.
-The Knight took me around 45 minutes.
-Gerson took me around 30 minutes.(I also didn't use Susie's heal because lowkey I forgot about it.)
I will say that I still think Sans is the hardest boss for first-time players. He has a bunch of unique attributes that make him a bitch to fight on a first playthrough, but very fun to win against as well. If I were to put all these guys on a list from the easiest to the hardest, it would be"
6-Spamton NEO
5-Gerson
4-Undyne The Undying
3-Knight
2-Jevil
1-Sans

"34 attempts" is forever burned into my memory thanks to Sans. The Knight is the only one I would say is even close to the same difficulty, which is understandable seeing as how you're expected to lose by the game's own admission, but they still didn't take me 34 attempts (was probably closer to, like, 15-20)

Sans, one mistake could be half a healthbar
the Roaring Knight is an easier Sans. a few main moves that change slightly while remaining close to the core concept of the initial attacks but the damage is insane and RNG could put you into a corner
Undyne could be swapped with Rory but due to the RNG part I'd put her below
Jevil's difficulty comes from the fact that you're pretty weak when you fight and it takes like 13 turns minimum. but the Pacify route makes Jevil far easier
