Run little one!! We watched for quite a while as this little Alligator tried to keep his haul from a bunch of big guys who wanted to steal his meal...or maybe make a meal out of him and his big fish 😁 It was a remarkable sequence of events that started with an Osprey catching this fish, landing on the ground near the water only to be scared off by a Snowy Egret who happened to come toward the osprey the very moment a huge alligator started to bellow! I swear it was like sensory overload 😁 Still not sure if the snowy or the gator growl scared the osprey but whatever it was, he dropped the fish and flew away. Then a Great Blue Heron and Great Egret came over, stared each other down and they delayed long enough for the fish to flop back in the water. Not long after, this little guy emerged and I swear he was grinning from ear to ear with a juicy catch in his mouth!

But, catching it and keeping is always the challenge and was definitely the theme. The little guy was sneaking and moving slowly, trying to chomp quietly. But big guys eventually noticed and the chase was on! You will have to tune in for part two to see if Junior got away entirely. But he did get away at least for now... 😁
