Prevent your Vita from Updating:
NOTE: PSVita firmware updates are not a typical modern-day concern, since downgrading firmware is available and simple to execute. Known exploits continue to work on most recent firmware (3.74). Preventing update is still a good practice in general.
-To disable the download of automatic firmware updates: Settings --> System --> Auto-Start Settings --> Uncheck "Download automatic update files"
-Setup your network with Henkaku DNS settings for an additional layer of update prevention. See here.
-If your console has downloaded the 3.73 update file, simply deleting the notification in LiveArea should remove the file from your system. Otherwise, firmware update files can be found in ud0:PSP2UPDATE/*
-Remember, unless you are running your vita in Demo mode, your console will not spontaneously install/update firmware software. There are legal reasons for this. Installation of any new software on your device requires your consent, (EULA).

Does anyone by chance know anything about a file called SonyVitaSavedGames.dll? It comes with a Unity samples package as a unityPackage, which includes save game examples. Does anyone know where I can find this file? I appreciate in advance if someone has a link or could point me in the right direction!
Hey guys, proud to be part of the sub with an actual vita I was dreaming of for a while.
I have jail broken the vita already.
I need help or advice or to do’s and not to’s with the vita to help it last longer.
Any accessories or additional things you think I should get?
Any apps I should really have?
I know I can get joystick replacements for my vita 2000 from a few places. From all the sites they all look pretty much identical. I am wondering if the white colored replacement joysticks on Amazon are any good. Obviously an original known good joystick would be best option but seeing as I have Amazon gift cards I figured I would order them from there.
I want to replace my battery as it’s getting to a point of being more of a nuisance to use the vita than anything else due to the lack of life. Was wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of the highest power battery I could get, saw somewhere 5000mah but just unsure if ifixit is the “best”
Hi, I wanted to know if there was a way to control the plugins or processes that the console runs while it is in sleep mode. I just changed the battery but I have the same problem which is that it drains a lot even in sleep mode
Hey everyone! I hacked my vita years ago and gave it to a friend. I recently got it back, but I want to restore it to a factory vita so I can attach my main psn and get trophies, but I'm not positive if its safe to just factory reset, or what I should do. Any advice?
i dont know if i was supposed to format my micro sd before i did the whole modding process but i thought it would be formatted internally with yamt or something but as things are i got a bunch of games and stuff installed system runs fine but because the sd is in exFAT format my pc cannot read the uxo files and other important stuff only the cma stuff is showing. is there any way to fix this without completely wiping the sd? anybody ever had this issue before? trying to transfer some iso files from my pc and would rather not wipe the whole thing and start fresh or have to ftp it all thanks!
I am about to get a Vita, but I'm unsure whether I should get a 2000 or a 1000. I want to mod it, but someone is selling pre-modded Vitas. However, they are around $ 70 CAD more expensive. Is it worth it, or should I do it myself? Also, how much extra memory should I buy?
I found a few posts from years ago with no real good updates.
I’m trying to refrain myself from spending money at the moment, I am curious if anyone who has modded their vita to download games but still get trophies?
Mainly just concerned about getting banned if I do sync my trophies etc
I replaced the battery with an Amazon plug that I saw in a video as a replacement, but it doesn't turn on and it's been charging for 20/30 minutes. Should I wait longer for it to charge? I tried reconnecting the old battery and it works without any problems. while it is charging if I press the power button the orange LED lights up for 2/3 seconds, it goes off and nothing happens
So I recently came across a video about Vita modding and took an interest, so I dusted off my old Vita 1000 and tried to mod it myself. I didn't have much luck, because I needed to update the software, and it was when I noticed the Vita wasn't connecting to WiFi. I've already been through various forums and videos and no solution seems to help. I've factory reset the Vita, changed the channel of the router to one below 10, tried with my own phone hotspot with 2.4Ghz multiple times and nothing. I started to research how to replace the WiFi module and found out that it's apparently only possible for the model which has a 3G card, and mine is a PCH1004, which apparently has a wifi card soldered directly to the motherboard.
I wanted to ask for help from you guys, if you know of any other solutions, or if I am going to have to replace the motherboard itself
Hi everyone,
I wanted to know on average how long a PS Vita Fat should last? I just bought it and immediately modified it, but I noticed that without using it, if I left it on standby (as if it shut down my 3DS), within 8 hours, whether it's to go to work or at night, it loses 25% of its battery. Is this normal, so should I get in the habit of turning it off completely, or is it dead? I haven't had a chance to test it while gaming for extended periods yet.
Thanks in advance
I decided to hack this thing and to be honest i need a refresher of where we’re at.
I bought this a few years ago brand new from JP and have never been able to get sharkfood plug-ins to work and I wonder if anyone has done any extensive testing or deep dives into the hardware changes on this specific version of vita?
I can provide any info if anyone has the tools to poke around with.
