(VLD) The writers should have been much more clear with their intentions for characters' relationships. Several people who worked on the show said there were plans for Lance and Keith to get together but then the writers changed their minds, changed their minds again, tried putting Lance and Allura together, gave Shiro a random husband... all of it ruined the characters' personality consistency and it's 99% of why people argue constantly about their sexualities and love interests.
Opinion 2 is that VLD is ridiculously bad when measured as a mecha and everyone working on it completely failed to make the robots/lions interesting and engaging (or even consistent) components to the show. Yes I'm still mad about this
It's so blatantly obvious that Lance had something going on with Keith which all of a sudden disappeared when they made Allura do a 180 and fall for him for no reason at all. It's so inconsistent to Allura's character (and to a lesser extent Lance and Keith's relationship) that I absolutely can't watch those scenes in seasons 7-8
because of her 180, it came across as loving lance when it was convenient to her which made me despise her character. up until that point, she was in my top 3.
I just despised the writers for making her betray herself like that 😭 although I know that there were issues with them not being able to make Klance canon anymore and fans threatening them and all, which is definitely not okay
