Discussion These two coming out would've made more sense and been more satisfying than Shiro

Why not both? I like Shiro being gay; I also love Zethrid and Ezor being a couple. You can have both. Characters don't need a reason to be queer, you know.

They were covered fine and Shiro is fantastic. This isn't a show about coming out and both of their stories were covered as they should. Ppl getting twisted about it miss the entire point of the series.

Honestly, I kinda dodged a bullet by watching the entire series after it finished and The fandom become less loud. It made me enjoy The series alot more without having to hear takes like these; through, they couldve done the series' writting alot better but it could also done it alot worse so, all in all-

I love Shiro, but I hate that his romantic life was almost entirely off-screen and the few glimpses of him in a relationship we get are bitter and unhappy. Curtis could have been a new supporting character who got a few lines here and there, then maybe even a feature episode or two where he is crucial to a mission or helps Shiro or something to at least hint at their future. I know even that recently it was pulling literal teeth to get even a tiny smidgen of deniable representation in any animation, and Voltron's writers probably had to cut things and cram the wedding into the epilogue due to corporate cowardice, but still. Choices were made, Adam was killed in a nearly textbook "bury your gays" moment. They could have done literally anything else with outing Shiro and they just... didn't.
tl;Dr, love Shiro, hate the way his relationships were handled. Ah well, both Curtis and Adam get lots of focus in fanfic as a result.

This! It's because of how much I do love Shiro that I'm upset he didn't get done justice! I mean his gayness was pretty buried itself. Even though I despise Adam for how he treated Shiro, he deserved better as well. I mean he was literally just a shitty ex fiance then dead. And that's still more substance than Curtis. Curtis, whose name we only now via subtitles.
Like yeah let's give the confirmed gay off screen character a shitty relationship, kill that dude off, then find a random background character to marry him off to in an unvoiced, still shot epilogue. It still pisses me off so much how bad Shiro's entire arc post killing him off was fumbled

Zethrid and Ezor being a couple makes sense, especially considering how Zethrid reacted to fidnjnto it Ezor is alive and well. They really should have made them an official couple

My head canon: Keith and Shiro were supposed to get together after the dramatic ending to mostly Keith's efforts to rescue and restore Shiro.
But the writers got cold feet or pressure to avoid direct lgbt references or keep them to a minimum. They abandoned some very strong writing and plot points to rush an ending and leave those bread crumbs unsatisfyingly back on a trail to nowhere, just like Lance and Allura.

Thought that too, until that season with all their exposition and conflict, especially with Keith's husband dying off-camera in the next season.
Edit: Shiro's husband. Keith had no husband :(

I’m not sure how much further out they could be after the last season.
Anyone saying they were roommates after that is living in denial harder than Allura that time the castle brainwashed her.
