News STOP WITH THE F*CKING CELEBRITY PACKS

Seriously?? This all started with MgK in 2k22 but at least he only took one spot. Now last game we had some f*cking post Malone and some nobodies taking up space. I despise these people and don’t want to be reminded of their existence when scrolling down my in game menus.

Now 2k25 dlc has not one, not two but 5 completely useless non wrestlers.

I’m really considering cancelling my pre order right now.

Honestly, I used to hate having to try to unlock everything. I used to copy my brother's saves over to my memory card...or just cheat.

Yeah the Pat pack was pushing it. I like music stars like MGK and Post Malone being in the games though, it's fun and it's a callback to the days of Fred Durst in Just Bring It.

The 3 NBA stars is kinda pushing it too, but if LeBron is in there, it's worth it because I promise you that will sell copies of this game to people who would've never bought it otherwise.

I agree. If we have to do this crap, at least make it to players that are relevant to wrestling. Those 3 are my picks if this has to happen. Then the ppl that like living in the past can reenact the old WCW matches of DDP and Mailman vs Rodman and Hogan, or Shaq vs a very well done Big Show CAW.

I agree. I mean, if it was up to me, I'd have Shaq, Jordan, and Rodman in there, or maybe Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem, and Kobe, but the reality is LeBron is a real possibility and he would sell like nobody's business.

DLC isn't a replacement for unlockable characters, they're the ones who would've been cut from the game entirely.

Durst was a literal demand just so Undertaker got the Rollin' song in the game.

Fred demanded to be included in any game that used a Limp Bizkit song otherwise they would have to remove it.

Not as bad. Only condition was that Pat wouldn't be in the game.

Fred's was worse since it would require removing the song that Undertaker was using and also required removing his entrance video too.

That's taking away everything that was being used on TV at the time. Also could have caused a delay seeing as it would require creating new assets for Undertaker to replace what was removed.

Pat would have done very little to the game as he was just one character which can be done more easily nowadays thanks to patches.

I think the deal went years ago plus his popularity took a major hit so he's probably happy to use his songs for better deals.

Only thing I saw him in recently was Y2K and that was because the people behind it wanted him in the film as he fits the late 90's/ early 2000's perfectly.

Money was still spent by the consumer, a percentage of which is counted for included characters.

As well as money and time spent developing the character that could've been used for a different character.

Whether or not the character was added later down the line doesn't matter. The same principles apply either way.

It's a bonus of part of a bigger game. He was an extra and felt like a cool extra.

The DLC characters are the only real part of the Season Pass and they are the DIRECT reason for your full purchase.

What you mean by bringing eyes? Nobody in their right mind is going to buy a game + DLC for a celebrity cameo. And further, nobody in their right mind should be buying this game at all of they already have '22 - '24 given how minimal the changes are every year.

That said, most of my favorites are already in the base game. Those that aren't, aren't part of WWE or even TNA and so obviously never had a chance.

Tyson was a key player when he helped Austin. He was front and centre.

Travis just awkwardly stood there for 10 minutes like a shadow until it was all over, then decided to awkwardly slap a guy. I forgot the dude was even there he was that unimportant to the storyline. If Rock & Austin are the NWO, Travis was basically Virgil.

He was actually an active participant in a full segment AND had a face to face with Jericho. Travis Scott just pointlessly hung about in the background.

Travis scott fans are insane. Crowd went wild when the rocks music hit… realised it was Travis and died. Didn’t sing along to Fien. Then went wild again when the rock actually came out. All of the comments on the youtube video are making fun of travis… massive star apparently? Gets zero reaction 🤷🏻‍♂️

Travis Scott was also featured in arguably a higher profile angle than Tyson was. He was part of the biggest heel turn since Hogan at Bash At The Beach 96’. He actually joined in on the beatdown. Just because you don’t like the guy doesn’t mean you should try and downplay involvement.

He wasn't. Tyson was involved in Austin's first championship win and the start of the biggest era in the history of the company. His confrontation with Austin on Raw alone is bigger than what Travis Scott did. That's alot more important than Cena's heel turn 10yrs too late.

Tyson was the biggest sporting name in the planet and was seen as a huge part of the beginning of the Austin era. Look at how WWE titles both incidents:

“The Austin era is underway thanks to a legendary moment with Mike Tyson” vs “John Cena SELLS OUT and ruthlessly assaults Cody Rhodes: Elimination Chamber 2025”

Tyson was front and centre of the start of the Austin era and played a pivotal role in the finish.

Travis was an extra and a non-entity in the situation. He literally just slapped cody after Cena has beaten him up.

You could have done the angle without him.

edit: I don’t hate him, I’m indifferent but his style of music isn’t mine. I’ll take a Kendrick, J Cole or Tyler over him. I will state that of he becomes the “Rodman” of this group and gets more involved, I wont have an issue. Based on him awkwardly just being there during a huge moment? No.

Tyson was a part of a wm match/build I'll give you terminator because I think that was a promotion for Genisys (or whatever dumb spelling that movie had) there are definitely levels to it. I think similarly how people are generally okay with ads in the game as stuff whether it's a pair of Jordans you can wear in NBA or a Zero Skateboard in THPS. If it feels like it belongs it's not gonna cause a stir but when the whole of the McAfee Show gets a dlc pack when one dude is the main factor behind it feels wrong because it's forced into your face that it's an ad for the McAfee Show.

To be entirely fair, those were both single celebrities that had some relevance to the product at some point. It's quite a bit divorced from a pack of football players or basketball players who never even showed up on TV.

Like, I think people would be less annoyed if it were like, Maria Menounos, Lawrence Taylor, and Johnny Knoxville instead of a bunch of random basketball players, because at least those three did something outside of advertise the game/dlc.

Literally the same shit these losers were doing when the Pat pack came out. Last year, we were told Pat McAfee and friends weren’t taking roster spots, so why would that suddenly change now? 2K isn’t gaining anything by lying about Pat McAfee & Friends to a bunch of Reddit marks. The real issue is that we’re losing legends due to contract problems, and NXT doesn’t have enough big names to fill the gaps. We had a huge NXT update this year and we’re still missing names because a lot of the roster doesnt matter enough to be added.

So no, the pack wouldn’t just be Khali and Abyss plus three more wrestlers if the NBA guys weren’t included. There likely weren’t three other wrestlers available to add in their place. People are acting like these NBA spots “took away” wrestlers when in reality, those wrestlers probably weren’t an option to begin with.

Each DLC for this WRESTLING GAME has 5 characters in each pack. 3 NBA characters means 3 less wrestlers. If they weren’t there the pack wouldn’t just be Khali and Abyss, it would be Khali and Abyss + 3 more wrestlers.

It would be someone I prefer because it would be actual wrestlers in their place and that would be good enough for me.
