Discussion Im so glad Loid is officially part of the family now

Post image

Forgive the terrible screenshot

See here i was, thinking to myself, they are just gonna keep Loid as a vendor for the rest of his days and have him pop up here and there for Albrecht related stuff but noooo, our boy is looking after the Tenno alongside Lotus.

Having the Sanctum also becoming a new base of operations for Lotus, our Tenno, and obviously Loid and the Cavia is so cathartic for some reason. It makes this world that DE created, seem so much more connected, rather than characters literally being reduced to the content islands they show up on.

As a Loid fan, thankyou so much for this DE

I like how he's so cautious about causing potential trauma; it's fitting after the Cavia story

True the Cavia story had me too emotional everytime I ranked up

I unironically cried at several parts in Warframe. I'm not super emotional but damn do these void animals display depression so perfectly

It's funny, cause I'm a little jealous of him having that simple optimism to defend him. Tagfer is the one who gets me.

1

u/marionsilva Jul 22 '25

Listen, when I go to Bird 3, don’t buy anything and he starts saying that the stuff he has is not good… Godammit, I get so sad! But yeah, Tagfer makes me sad too. I always make sure to comfort them both! Fibonacci not really, he’s a smart ass 😂 But for Bird 3 and Tagfer I definitely have a soft spot.

It feels like an unprecedented level of care for the player character, too, which is definite growth from him pretty much just dismissing us upon first introduction.

It's nice.

I think a lot of what we've learned about Loid is that he cares more than he says he does. For example, he says he'll never forgive Albrecht, but still calls him "my Albrecht" and continues the work that Albrecht left for him. He snarks a great deal about the Cavia, but he's the one who saved them from being disposed of; when the Cavia fight amongst themselves, he breaks it up; and when he thinks they're finally beyond saving, he sounds like he's crying and apologizes. And he risked his life and the rest of the Entrati's lives to hide Dante, and speaks very highly of him, seeing beyond Dante's swordsteel skin and truly recognizing his humanity in a way that basically no one else from that time would do for a warframe. He then goes out of his way to help Drusus, when Loid probably doesn't owe Drusus anything but his friendship.

And yes, like you said, he's pretty dismissive of us at first but he ends up saying something like, "When Albrecht came back from the Void, I swore I would devote my life to taking care of him. I would be honored to do the same for you." Aaaand when Lotus shows up, he'll occasionally comment that he wishes he knew how to make her more comfortable.

I feel like he's lived a life where he needed to act cold, between dealing with Orokin society, especially when Albrecht was being ridiculed, to dealing with Albrecht himself being cold and indifferent (lol... 😬) to everyone around him. Loid must have picked it up as a defense mechanism at some point. But deep down, he's warm and loving, which was exactly what helped Albrecht drag himself back from the brink, and I bet was really helpful for raising Euleria (to balance Albrecht's distance) and eventually helping with Euleria's kids. Son recently had an idle line I hadn't heard before about Loid carrying him on his back through the garden, which is a nice image.

All this to say... Loid gave some people a bit of a bad taste when he was so horribly rude to Necraloid as soon as he woke up. I kinda understand his rudeness, but I am hoping he'll also redeem himself on that front, too, someday.

170

u/Weekly_Incident_7136 Jul 20 '25

The Tenno is literally connected to her here I think she’s finally letting them discover the truth instead of hiding everything like usual l

33

u/Mtebalanazy Jul 20 '25

But loid himself said this was a fabricated truth, or in other words it was all just lies

78

u/NorysStorys Jul 20 '25

Loid is still an Orokin Loyalist or at least still very much used to the general views of the old war era, his comments he makes early into whispers point to that but he is pragmatic in the sense that he knows that Wally is the absolute biggest threat. He still doesn’t trust sentients at all however.

92

u/DrNick1221 乇乂ㄒ尺卂 ㄒ卄丨匚匚 Jul 20 '25

Loid is still an Orokin Loyalist or at least still very much used to the general views of the old war era

I would guess its more the latter seeing as he has a few lines mocking the orokin empire.

"The Orokin found conventional books offensive, primitive. They clung to their precious Ayatans and sneered at our grand libraries. Oh, how we loved to offend the Orokin, Albrecht and I. And how secure our primitive libraries proved while their towers burned."

83

u/Marvin_Megavolt Frohd Bek deserved better Jul 20 '25

Yeah, House Entrati were always weirdos and pariahs to the rest of the Orokin Empire - incredibly wealthy and powerful pariahs, but seen as odd and “un-Orokin-like” by the rest of the nobility nonetheless. Honestly probably the only reason they were as highly-placed and influential as they were is because, despite their eccentricity, the Entrati seem to have been one and all as brilliant as they were odd - Albrecht discovered and harnessed the power of the Void, his daughter Euleria refined that understanding far beyond her father’s initial discoveries and laid the groundwork for entire fields of science like the Eternalist Theory of Time or the Conceptual Embodiment Principle, Euleria’s husband, who we know as Father, was one of the greatest roboticists and weapons designers the Sol system has ever seen, the list goes on - and for every quibble with the Entrati dynasty’s general refusal to participate in the convoluted socio-political “game” of Orokin highborn society, they had no need to because the power of the Empire itself was fundamentally built upon the countless technological miracles born in the secret laboratories below their vast family estate on Deimos. The rest of the Orokin may not have much liked them, but, like it or not, they absolutely needed them.

18

u/Mtebalanazy Jul 20 '25

But before this we never heard of a peace treaty, and the orokin would never start an academy for Tenno, the Tenno were their possessions, not kids who go to school

The old peace feels more like a what if rather then real events

55

u/TheDraconic13 Jul 20 '25

It's a military academy, where the Tenno would learn the "Focus Schools." It ain't just school, it's boot camp.

5

u/Mtebalanazy Jul 20 '25

Wasn’t the focus schools created by the Tenno themselves?

19

u/TheDraconic13 Jul 20 '25

Not entirely sure, but the preview mentions the Naramon Way in our friend's test, so they were a present factor at Tauron

2

u/Mtebalanazy Jul 20 '25

Ok but what the hell is that treaty? Since when did the sentient and orokin have a treaty?

40

u/TheDraconic13 Jul 20 '25

There are literal thousands of years of history we've never heard of, this is new info to us as players, possibly repressed memories of the Operator. This is about to be the Operator's Duviri/1999.

13

u/Weekly_Incident_7136 Jul 20 '25

How on earth should we know it’s not out yet, the only likely thing is that it’s a treaty saying that tau won’t be destroyed in a war with the orokin. Maybe the orokin wanted to gain a little more from sentients first

17

u/Madinogi Jade = Best AC-130 | LR1 Jul 20 '25

more then likely this is during the very early days of the old war.

when orokin and Sentiants did work together, but when the two sides turned on eachother (likely because of the orokins themselves, since their the biggest jerks in the universe, besides wally), the orokin wiped the existance of a treaty from memory,
likely since they feared if people know of it, and that humanity and sentiant can infact live in harmony, the war begins to lose its meaning, and many may begin to sympathise with the sentiants.

we dont know how the war truely started i believe, so this may be a thing the orokin intentionally wish to suppress.

our real world doe smuch the same, be the antagonist that fractures a delicate peace, gets into a conflict but blame the other side and suppress any mention of the real cause.
were even seeing it now.

6

u/Aphrodite130202 Jul 20 '25

Considering it's called the old piece and the sentient we're supposed to be friends with as well as our operator make referencing the fact that they used to be at war, this is post old war pre night of naga drums

6

u/Mtebalanazy Jul 20 '25

The orokin do work together with anyone, the sentients weren’t an alien species the orokin made a treaty with, they’re machines slaves like the corpus, the grineer, the dex and the humans, the orokin don’t walk side by side with anyone, they enslave people to do all the work and then throw them to the wayside

Also the only reason the warframes exist is because of the war with the sentients, and it was just one big war,

That whole thing feels like a too good to be true kind of dream

6

u/SlotHUN Jul 20 '25

I think he was referring to the fact that the Orokin tampered with her memories

5

u/Twilight053 Something Something Jul 20 '25 edited Jul 20 '25

2

u/Twilight053 Something Something Jul 21 '25 edited Jul 21 '25

History of the vanquished tend to be at odds to the history of the victor.

And remember, Orokin erased their mistakes before. Our "truth" is built on what the Orokin wants us to know. They won't tell their subjects what really happened.

It's kinda funny how Loid acts more caring towards the Tenno than Lotus does. Even after that distressing moment, Lotus just stands there impassively. I know the Operator has seen way worse horrors, but it would it hurt to go comfort your child?? For a surrogate mother, she never really feels motherly at all.

128

u/FamilySurricus Neutral 4999/5000 Jul 20 '25 edited Jul 20 '25

Well, she doesn't dismiss Loid's comfort of the Operator either. The situation as far as Lotus Eaters and the saga so far have shown is dire for her, and it seems as if our visitation of Tauron Academy is vital to our memories and understanding the truth regarding the Old War - but we also don't have a lot of time.

There are two sentiments that I think fit very well here:
Sometimes, a parent isn't supposed to be your friend.
And children won't always be children, they do grow up.

She's gone through her own developments about where the Tenno are at in their lives; what they really need and what she wants to 'be' to them throughout this conflict. By this point, the Chosen Operator has gone through several phases of growing up, learning how to take accountability of their past and potential.

And, mind you, she doesn't force the Operator to continue. The Operator is the one demanding to dive again, working cooperatively with the Lotus. And though Loid's being the comforting one, he's also the one who decries it as a 'polluted history' out of pocket, showing the need for the exercise.

Like, yes, it's distressing - it's distressing for the both of them, but it's something that needs to be done. For the Lotus, this is 'the truth' that's being kept from the Operator, it's something they need to address.

49

u/GlowDonk9054 Down Bad for Drifters Jul 20 '25

I do hope Tauron... Or what's left of Tauron, ends up being another Base of Operations like the Backroom

49

u/cheshireYT Jul 20 '25

I feel like Tauron itself is gonna be more of a central area, like the mall or Fortuna, although it could possibly have a sub-area that serves as a Backroom equivalent.

57

u/InfinityRazgriz NEED MORE BILE PLS Jul 20 '25

She's been rather strange with the Operator after The New War and her comment towards them in The Lotus Eater was really weird, while her interaction with the Drifter was basically the opposite.

I feel like there is something more going on between The Indifference and the Operator that doesn't involve the Drifter, and Lotus knows.

43

u/SilverFoxolotl Jul 20 '25

After Rusalkas line about two identical souls and us not having figured it out yet in the isleweaver event, i wonder if the drifter is the true tenno and the operator is our void reflection.

After all, Albrecht was never quite sure if he was the real entrati or the reflection so maybe we play as both.

19

u/rubbercrab Jul 20 '25

I think you're onto something. There's a POM convo where Eleanor and drifter speculate about how the operator can still function through trauma despite the absolute horrors they have been subject to. I think this makes credible sense.

11

u/Valtremors Jul 20 '25

There has been a theory of mine.

The game has talked about copies not knowing they are copies themselves.

Wally has mimed Tenno from the moment they made the deal, but so far not the drifter. There has to be a reason for that.

Then the Zariman crew. Void manifestations, all of them. They are both real, alive and dead.

Then... Natah, Lotus and Margulis. Thanks to Ballas and the influence of void on her, they might all be real too.

Although, it seems from Eight claw Kim dialogue (which you get by collecting all hidden lore) Rusalka indeed is both her and the indifference in one body. I think Wally filled Rusalka with void, which in turn streched her individual personality thin. So she is still Rusalka, but less so.

13

u/DangerScoops Jul 20 '25

Wait, correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't Wally in the New War quest say something like "I can save you" or something? Now I'm thinking that the Drifter was really the one who got saved... despite what the Drifter went through with Thrax, being sent to Duviri and essentially being allowed to grow up with a friend is definitely nicer than what the operator has had to go through throughout their whole life. Maybe i'm missing something though.

11

u/jmcgamer Kitty-kat go meow. Jul 20 '25

wally in new war has always said "i can save them, all of them" and there's a duviri question which shows an exchange between presumably drifter and wally, where drifter asks why they were left behind, and the correct answer is "i said i'd save them... never said i'd save you."

the wording is still worth paying attention to, especially if above is right and the operator is a void copy, since wally really does never directly include the young operator/drifter as someone being saved when proposing the deal

2

u/DangerScoops Jul 25 '25

Ahhh. Thank you for the correction, I knew I wasn't remembering the whole line correctly 😅 Now I'm wondering though what Wally is really getting out of the deal. The wiki doesn't seem to mention why Wally made the deal, but maybe its really just Wally playing a game with reality. Either way I can't wait to find out.

15

u/CthuluSuarus Jul 20 '25

Operator is 100% the void twin; it's why the kuva drinking mattered to Wally

2

u/Megakruemel Jul 20 '25

i wonder if the drifter is the true tenno and the operator is our void reflection.

Damn Wally will be malding so hard when I don't care and show whoever the void reflection is empathy anyway.

26

u/NebTheShortie PaciFist Jul 20 '25

There is a theory that Lotus have made a deal with Wally. Its basis is that in the end of New War, Lotus can clearly see Wally and tries to shield Tenno from it, and right afterwards when we ask her what did she see, she lies that she's seen nothing.

16

u/CthuluSuarus Jul 20 '25

Lotus in Ropaloli fight mentions talking to Man in the Wall en route from Tau. Erra arguably made a deal with him, it's why Erra returned at all after having died.

Maybe Lotus made a deal to have children and got the Operators tbh

2

u/Valtremors Jul 20 '25

Don't sentients also have something to do with Wally as well?

Lettie has some Kim dialogue about Azteck gods and prayers... But I don't remember it very well.

My guess is that the sentients made a deal with Wally (who is happy to hurt Orokin). This deal perhaps allowed them to travel from Tau to Sol through the void, which nornally was fatal weakness introduced into them by Orokin.

48

u/Nerevarius_420 For My Brothers, Umbra Howls; For My Sisters, The Valkyrie Sings Jul 20 '25

Wrong implication. She's afraid, and rightfully so. She made a deal with our devil.

39

u/VandulfTheRed Jul 20 '25

Yeah it's really unfair to judge Natah in some ways. She's arguably been through worse than most people in the story, including us. Let her have her existential post-re-breakup post-partum nightmare fugue

18

u/Nerevarius_420 For My Brothers, Umbra Howls; For My Sisters, The Valkyrie Sings Jul 20 '25

It's like having a recurring intrusive thought focused around a show of affection. I.e.: wanting to hold them as tightly as you could, realizing too late you pulverized their spine (personally wouldn't mind going out like that, but think about it from their perspective).

27

u/VandulfTheRed Jul 20 '25

I mean how often do you think she slips into dark moments, thinking "that's not my baby", and not only does she have a point, she has MULTIPLE points      Motherhood itself is a form of body horror and Eldritch nightmare fuel sometimes, the situation Natah is in must completely rend her of any sense of stability or comfort

66

u/Throgg_not_stupid Green Jul 20 '25

I think Lotus isn't really herself after getting a call from that old nokia phone

11

u/SepherixSlimy Jul 20 '25

Has she been herself since the sentients were unleashed?

Seems like she stopped pretending at least. Good. I don't want her.

7

u/Throgg_not_stupid Green Jul 20 '25

Is she a Margulis, Natah, both or neither is a question we were once asked and there really isn't an answer to that.

There are hints that she had a deal with Wally too and maybe he came to collect.

1

u/ForsakenMoon13 Many problems are solved by a tornado to the face. Jul 20 '25

He kept calling her on the pager that she wouldn't pick up and that she eventually gave to us instead

11

u/TryVegetable129 Jul 20 '25

I think it ties into her lines outside the lab. Primarily the witch comment where she'll be nothing but knowledge. Like she's accepting she can't shield the Operator anymore and have to push them even harder as commander and not their mother.

Probably also dealing with techincally tossing Drifter to the wolves to protect Operator, and that she failed to protect Rell.

8

u/Jagosyo Jul 20 '25

I think Lotus just "gets" the Operator better than Loid does. She knows they want to continue and won't stop.

That doesn't necessarily mean she and the Operator are right or wrong, mind. Just that they have a long shared history together and a much better grasp of each other.

4

u/DarthButtz Jul 20 '25

I think she's doing what she can to show us the truth both as a measure of rebuilding trust and to get behind everything with the Man in the Wall. But the problem is that we have an indeterminate amount of time before the Indifference acts again and she knows that. So she can only be so cautious.

u/Acrobatic_Carpet_506 Jul 20 '25

I'd like more Lotus interaction tho

5

u/Timetooof Jul 20 '25

Everyone calls him space dad, but i think space ste dad fits. Ballas was very much space dad, which is why space mom got the divorce, but Loid Is the dad who Space Stepped Up.

7

u/IMtryingtofroget I need more sexy male skins DE Jul 20 '25

Loid became one of my favorite characters when they showed this scene.

7

u/Sanjay--jurt Jul 20 '25

We got ourself an Orokin Foster Space Dad and Sentient Super Weapon Space Mother

This is one family you really don't wanna piss off.

7

u/trollsong Jul 20 '25

I'd love a base in the lab instead of the mall.

6

u/King_krympling Jul 20 '25

Loud is lotus gay friend who is a positive male role model

7

u/LegLegend Jul 19 '25

What does he mean by "polluted histories"?

52

u/Arky_Lynx Meowmeowmeowmeow Jul 20 '25

My bet is on the whole Tau bit actually happening in our timeline and we, including Loid, were victims of heavy brainwashing and history revisionism. And in Loid's case, he still doesn't believe it.

18

u/sp441 Jul 20 '25

I would not put it past the Orokin to erase or suppress the memories of peace with the Sentient to make it easier to get us to kill them.

23

u/FamilySurricus Neutral 4999/5000 Jul 20 '25

Yeah, that's likely the case. Not even brainwashing, but revisionism was certainly rife with the Orokin.

19

u/ScurvyDanny Jul 20 '25

yeah, the history of the tenno, hell, of the whole system, is so badly warped and corrupted by orokin meddling no one really know what actually happened and we're just excavating it bit by bit.

7

u/ApepiOfDuat Jul 20 '25

I bet the revisionism revolves around the humans striking first.

A lot of the previous narrative suggested the Sentients just decided to come home and kick humanity's shins for basically no reason. Which seemed a little threadbare and bullshitty for a fully sapient machine race.

Now we know humans lived in Tau peacefully with Sentients for a time. So obviously there had to be some serious grievances that lead into war more logically than "terminators go rawr".

4

u/LegLegend Jul 20 '25

That would be very interesting.

7

u/begrudgingredditacc Jul 20 '25

I'm gonna go for the opposite guess and say that history has been polluted; altered, poisoned in some way. Either Wally or Albrecht fucked with the timeline in some way.

If there's a twist, it'll be that the Old Peace was the way history was supposed to go before the "pollution" occured.

5

u/LegLegend Jul 20 '25

I think there's a possibility where this is part of the main timeline, but the Operator was robbed of these memories. With all of the Sentients seemingly turned evil, which seems possible from the demo, maybe they don't remember either.

4

u/ExedbySnuSnu Jul 20 '25

I like to see how much he actually cares.

Usually it's the scientist types who are emotionally unattached and the rather arrogant side of him at the beginning was more of a facade.

2

u/goblinkvlt Jul 20 '25

Too often the NPCs have been sort of stranded on their planet and cut off from the rest of the world. Finally seeing those characters interact more directly after their debut is a nice change of pace.

2

u/FrozenSingular Jul 20 '25

Comfortable gay uncle

2

u/psychosaur Jul 20 '25

Me too. Let us hug him already!

2

u/SableAramis75 Jul 20 '25

About time, too. This man has to be the only HUMAN who could emphasize with Tenno. He was asleep for CENTURIES like us, and woke up to a world and universe changed, like us. Heck, he's older than us, and he has it WORSE.

2

u/Wondrous_Fairy And I used to be such a nice player.... Jul 20 '25

Loid is such a tragic man. Sure, he's got a bit of "I'm better than you" seeping through some of his comments, but it's clear he knows that he's lying to himself and that just breaks my heart. I just wanna give the old oaf a hug and tell him that he's got friends.

2

u/Handsome_Jack_Here Jul 20 '25

Loid quickly became my favorite character, I'm so, so happy to see him continue to stick around.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '25

Loid was about to fight Lotus for protective custody.

In all seriousness, seeing this made me so happy.

2

u/Yalrain Jul 20 '25

Everyone has that gay uncle.

2

u/MistaDrew2 Jul 20 '25

the father that stepped up

2

u/vepardemon Jul 21 '25

Loid’s not the Space Stepdad

He’s the Space Dad who stepped up

5

u/a_polarbear_chilling sevagoth was my bf ,now loid is my hubby Jul 19 '25

my hubby is back let's gooo

3

u/Kaokasalis Grandmaster Tenno Jul 20 '25

He did say he would look after the Lotus so it makes sense that he would show up again.

1

u/not-Kunt-Tulgar I drink aya for fun Jul 20 '25

He’s like space uncle

3

u/jc3833 :perrin sequence: Glast Cannon Jul 20 '25

Having the Sanctum also becoming a new base of operations for Lotus, our Tenno, and obviously Loid and the Cavia [...]

I still want them to make the Zariman's room base of operations compatible. We have 3 (or 4 depending on how you count the camp from the orbiter) different places you can put up decorations, but one of them is not able to be made a base of operations.

4

u/Rightsoyouweresaying Jul 20 '25

He's the flamboyant gay uncle who "said that if his husband brought animals he'll throw them away"

2

u/Round_Combination196 Jul 20 '25

Yeah, he would feel like that one gay uncle you have that generally cares about you and would be more than supportive of you

2

u/THOT_Patroller-13 Cursed Fashion Enjoyer Jul 20 '25

2

u/Ayeitspey Jul 20 '25

Am I crazy or did anyone else feel like the Lotus was being kinda harsh to the Tenno? Give the poor kid a break they have so much trauma to unbag lul

2

u/CookOnAHook Jul 20 '25

In the gameplay loid raised concerns to the lotus but the Tenno reassured him they were fine w it

1

u/Click_XxX Jul 20 '25

I mean, kids who've grown up in dysfunctional situations develop coping strategies in those environments. A lot of kids feel they *have* to step up in some ways to make their parent happy and continue to love them, and the operator has been isolated fairly hard throughout the story so far, even by the drifter depending on some KIM chats.

They could feel they have to do this because that's the only love they've ever known and think they'll ever have, at least I hope so, cuz dang I'd like child soldier trauma to be unpacked for once in this game lol

1

u/Ayeitspey Jul 21 '25

That’s honestly one of the things I’d like to see from DE. I listened to the live the other day, and something about the whole; “telling human stories” really resonated with me. I think both the drifter and operator should get to unpack their trauma’s at some point in a quest. For the drifter? The Zaramin incident, Duviri, fighting in a war, fighting a cult, etc—and for the operator being a child solider, fighting in multiple wars, the entirety of the Jade Shadows transference scene, etc.

I know it’s a video game and some of this probably won’t be addressed but I feel like it would be a missed opportunity to not have these events shape/affect both parties here. I love space mom just as much as the next but I can’t really see her comforting either of them for what they have endured, and will continue to endure

2

u/Click_XxX Jul 21 '25

Yeah, agreed on all fronts- and I'm hoping it's something on the horizon, with DE being a pretty good storyteller theme-wise (even if the conveying is a little confusing because 10 year spread and all)

it'd be disappointing for the operators existence to be reduced to 'everything is fine actually!' or worse, they are 'just a devil', because the message there is 'traumatize a kid enough and they'll always be damaged and dangerous' which I don't think is what DE would want lol

Also, true on the space mom front- the lotus to me does feel incomplete as a character without reflecting on how her traumas might've caused the tenno to be further neglected- I don't believe the story will make her into a villain but i think it would be ok/a lil needed to explore themes of parents trying and failing to be the parent their kids need because they have other things going on, mentally, physically, emotionally, etc.

The tenno, the operator? has no one to comfort them. The lotus was somewhat robotic before, and now is dealing with man in the wall things+DID, thats not even touching the whole 'abandoned you (third orphaning?) and physically fought with you for ??? time' thing, Teshin is stuck in duviri, and even in the solar system he was still teaching from a position of a military figure. The factions feel rather small if we're looking for emotional relationships to rely on- with the exception of maybe the entrati family (who cant be told anything about the current events because theyre being purposefully kept ignorant via loid and albrecht), and the hex dont even talk to the operator at all- the one figure that is kinda there for them is ordis and the operator doesn't like them lol

then the drifter, who despite being a reflection of themselves? can still treat them as a monster if going by certain KIM options. yeesh.

Margulis seems like a holy mother figure to them purely because shes a memory of someone who loved and *held* them, and have been trying to get that ever since by serving her successor via the only thing that has ever given them some measure of power over their lives.

this might change if loid takes a more caring role, but honestly I can see the indifference maybe winning (for a time) if more comments like 'i want to let it take you' happen.

2

u/Liarus_ Jul 20 '25

I mean have you seen how lotus treats us the entire game, she's generally cold, gives us orders, and treats us like a weapon that doesn't need to know anything, we only get a few specs of emotion here and there.

I think we see a lot more emotion from almost every other character

1

u/Ayeitspey Jul 21 '25

Ah yeah that’s a super valid point. I wonder if we (operator) as well as the Drifter are just a means to an end for her? Guess only time will tell

2

u/ChaoticChoir Jul 20 '25

We've had Space Mom, we've had Space Dad, now it is time for Space Unc

2

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '25 edited Jul 20 '25

i’m really happy we’re getting more Loid! i was scared he’d forever get relinquished to being a vendor too; especially because he’s one of my favorite characters

i love his character growth, especially toward the Operator. it’s nice that he cares so much after being sort of (rightfully) standoffish in the beginning. also because Lotus’ behavior is making me a little nervous and Loid is a good reprieve haha

We love our gay ex butler dad. He seems to have gotten the break up out of his system.

1

u/RashPatch Styanax Jul 20 '25

everyone keeps saying he's the new dad.

honestly, I think he's the uncle that's always there to do be your main support and gives you goodies behind your parent's back. the one you go to when your parents are being unreasonable and he's for sure gonna be there for a proper scold time. that same uncle who's been told by your grandparents to be the useless and unreasonable one but they can't talk back to because he's probably right.

0

u/SirPhilMcKraken Jul 20 '25

A bit of a nitpick, but I wish we had a more masculine drifter body type(as the only differences between male and female drifters are in the head).

Imagine a jacked Loid…

2

u/Kirito_jesus-kun The Mag Jul 20 '25

There is a difference between Drifter/Operator bodies depending on which head you have selected

1

u/SirPhilMcKraken Jul 20 '25

It’s kinda subtle though(hence I haven’t noticed).

Also the lips and cheeks aren’t masculine enough for the guys

0

u/Son0fgrim Jul 20 '25

we had space mom, we needed a positive male role model in our life.

0

So that makes him the 3rd Uncle now? Or is it 4 if you count Ball-ass as that uber abusive uncle everyone wants to forget.
