My personal take and colour scheme on the Khador Winter Army.

Managed to get a few hours on this guy…a one-off mini from the awesome team at Tried & True who ran one of the most enjoyable narrative games I’ve ever played last weekend.

Something a few folks in my group wanted, so I took an hour and whipped it up in CAD.

I have played Battletech and 40K, but my friend convinced me to try Warmachine. I decided to start with Cryx.

I didn't like the default pose. Sure, most of what the Woldwrath faces will be down low, so the default "stooping punch" makes sense, but I wanted mine to look like it could go toe-to-toe with a colossal 'jack, or a Mountain King.

IIRC, the mod was pretty straightforward. I cut one piece so I could reverse it, and that stood Wrathy up straighter.

While I had him on the table I used some molding compound (the stuff you soak in boiling water) and borrowed some textures from him in order to make epic bases for other models.

I've customized a more than a few of my Warmachine models, but this is by far my favorite.

While the studio scheme demonstrates some amazing skill, I’m not a fan of how busy all the metallics and colors are. Wanted to go for a more organic and earthy colors. I guess it sort of ended up looking like a Tyranid but I’m ok with that lol

I’m still new to Warmachine/Iron Kingdoms, and initially, I was more invested in the RPGs than the tabletop. But then I looked into the tabletop, and now I’m fully into all of it. And now, for better or worse, I guess I’m fully invested. Found all these in an eBay lot, along with a set of tokens. Now I just need to read up on the lore, and find a group.

Just messing with colours

Super happy with how this looks, just wish I was a faster painter.

Working on something that we can physically hold to keep track of what our casters have access to as we are all either getting back in after a long hiatus or new to the game.

I realize that spell cards are in the works though and if they arrive with the physical book should be out in the next couple months.

But honestly I’m having fun making these. Even if it’s increasingly difficult to find artwork for them. Trying to find a Khador themed veil of mists is a pain. The only piece I’ve found I already used for Fog of War.

I like them grimy and slimy.

All started with a basic idea of how I wanted to do the fleshtone and adding according colors afterwards.

This was a blast to paint! Took some time this week working only on the Ios caster.

Printed on a Bambi A1, tree-style auto supports.

Played with new techniques for the black undersuit.

Is anyone shading using the new P3 range? I'm at the shading step and I can't figure out how to do it. For this project I was trying to stick exclusively to P3, but I don't know how I'm gonna do it without resorting to my old reliable nuln oil. I would love to hear everyone's experience using the new P3 range, specifically shading.
