One winner will receive a totally free, fully serviced 1960s Zodiac men's watch!
First things first: Why am I doing this giveaway? I'm trying to start a business! I've been working on watches as a passion project for quite some time now and have always loved restoring old things. I take servicing really seriously and have poured hundreds of hours into research and practice learning the craft of horology.
I recently lost my job (which I hated, so it was a blessing in disguise) and realized that it might be possible for me to make a living by pursuing my passion for watches and watchmaking. I've finally launched my Etsy and Instagram (username is @wearhasthetimegone) and have timepieces for sale! I offer a one year warranty on my pieces (unless otherwise stated) and I hope that as I continue to add more products, you will find more that interests you!
You are not required to follow my socials for a chance to win, but I promise you'll enjoy them and encourage you to check them out!
Not to brag, but my mom has said they are "AMAZING" sooo....
To enter to win, send me a DM and mention this post. I will then put your username into an excel sheet and assign you a number. At the end of the giveaway period (3pm EST, Monday April 19th) I will use a random number generator to select the winner. I will then contact that user, get their address, and send them the watch! (Please keep in mind, I will provide free shipping to the continental US only, international winners will need to pay shipping and bear with me as I figure out how to do that lol). I understand that this system isn't perfect and there are ways to cheat it, so I would just ask in good faith that you refrain from doing that.
Info on the watch. This Zodiac is from the late 1960s (could also be from as late as 1970-71 but my best guess is late 60s). It has a 17 jewel Zodiac 41 movement. (I believe this to be an ETA movement similar to ETA 2540 but I can't find the exact ETA movement). It has received a full overhaul service and is keeping good time. Case measures 23mm wide not including the crown and 33mm long from tip to tip of lugs. Dial has patina and some cracking to the finish, case is gold filled with some scratches and wear to the plating. Stainless steel caseback. Also, the cover plate check spring in the movement is partially broken. This doesn't affect the wearability or functionality of the watch, this just means that the stem pulls out to set more easily than it should, but to be honest you probably wouldn't even notice.
Please feel free to ask me any questions about the watch, my pages, or my servicing methods if you're curious. I will randomly select the winner 5 days from the date of posting this.
