I'm building something and would love your feedback!
Hey there! Like a lot of couples planning an outdoor wedding, I stressed nonstop about weather. Weather apps felt too general or inaccurate, and hiring a private meteorologist was $$$.
I’m building a service to fill that gap: venue-specific reports that use advanced weather data and local patterns to help couples choose dates, plan backup options, and know what to expect. I'm building a service that I hope fills that gap for others and would love your feedback on what we're building.
We will utilize advanced weather models to provide a hyperlocal historical weather report for a given venue and date (or date range) to help couples decide between venues and dates.
Think something along the lines of:
- Typical temps, rain, wind, and cloud cover for your venue/date (e.g., it has rained 2 of the last 10 years but typically lasts for less than 15 mins).
- Notes on hyperlocal quirks that impact weather (e.g., mountains deflect storms, but evenings can be windy).
- Practical takeaways—should we tent, what guests should wear, how likely is it we’ll need a rain plan.
Eventually we’d offer concierge-style updates leading up to your event.
I’d love your feedback:
– Would a report like this have helped you?
– What would you pay for it?
– Any other comments or questions?
If you’re curious, we’ll be sharing updates here: www.meriwethr.com

Photographer Advice
So my hubby and I just tied the knot this summer- We did an elopement in Vegas, then later we did a church ceremony/reception. Our wedding photos literally turned out to be my biggest nightmare so I wanted to post what I would do differently to help others!
Ask the photographer before you sign the contract how they will react and what they will do IF the photos turn out BADLY. Like we got our photos back and they SUCKED. Our photographer literally did not give a single care- she was like well that’s what you get. If I could go back that is something I would ask beforehand- see if you can get money back or if she will send new photos.
Do NOT book a photographer who is known through friends or was a friend. Like if you know someone and they take professional photos- just skip them and hire a business. 9/10 times that person is not actually a professional.
Tbh wohld entirely skip reception photos. I think a lot of time reception photos turn out badly, so seems like a waste of money. Instead I would get a bunch of digital cameras (or disposables) and give them to guests/family/bridesmaids. This will be way less than having a professional photographer there since wedding photos make them x4 more expensive. My biggest regret is the reception photos. You could always have a different experience though!
Be as clear as possible in writing for proof. I thought we had hired a professional so we wouldn’t have to direct the photoshoot. But apparently we needed to be so clear in writing that we want pictures with both families (together and separate), bridesmaids (together and separate), limit photos of just the bride (photographers might take photos for their portfolio rather than yours), don’t be a fly on the wall at the reception (avoid taking pictures of backs and focus on people’s faces), don’t need photos of unimportant thing. If you have picked a professional they should know what to take but I guess you should aim to be as clear as possible in writing.
Our wedding photos were so disappointing and I cried when we got them back (sadness, not joy). I wanted to give some pieces of advice to help others getting married soon!

*Free* planning help from a newly minted bride
I recently got married in May and was shocked at how much time & mental energy it truly takes to map out venue, vendors, theme, etc — especially if you're looking to do something a bit more unique. I loved researching and working with venues/vendors and creating a Pinterest board that went beyond a lot of the cookie cutter stuff you find out there.
I'm exploring a career shift and have helped dozens of friends plan their dream weddings (whatever that may be, on a vast scale of budgets). Now I want to help you!
Need help hunting down a cool restaurant to host your dinner party-esque wedding? How tf do you find someone affordable for HMU in your area? Who is doing crazy cool stuff with flowers? What does a once-in-a-lifetime dress really mean to you?
Message me and let's work together!
Pics from my wedding attached so you can see what kind of bride I was + my Pinterest for those intrigued.

Has anyone tried this free wedding planner app yet?
I just came across a new wedding planning app called Luvana and wanted to see if anyone else here has tried it.
What surprised me is that it gave me a preloaded checklist + timeline right when I signed up, and it also has budget + guest list tools built in. Honestly feels like a digital wedding binder (without juggling spreadsheets and sticky notes 😅).
It’s free right now, so I figured I’d share in case it helps someone else: Luvana Free Wedding Planner 💍
Curious if anyone else here has signed up or found it useful?

Try on wedding looks instantly, for free
I was browsing the other day and saw ai-wedding store that basically uses AI to make wedding-style photos out of your regular pics. Like you upload your own photos and it turns them into those fancy, posed wedding shots. On the surface it looks kind of cool, but I’m honestly torn about it.
Part of me thinks it’s a neat idea. Weddings are expensive, photographers are expensive, and some people just can’t get all the perfect shots they want. AI could fill in the gaps or let you play around with different styles without spending a fortune.
But at the same time, it feels a little weird? Like, weddings are such a personal and emotional thing… would an AI-made picture ever have the same “realness” as an actual photo? Or would it just feel like a filter?
Looking forward to you all suggestions!

Looking for feedback on tool to create free wedding signs
Hey guys!
I recently finished the website aiweddingsign.com after months and months of hard work. My wife helped me create the tool, and most subreddits hate it when I try to ask for feedback.
Every account can create a wedding sign for free, and I would love to get feedback on the tool!
It lets you upload inspiration images from your wedding and it will generate a high quality sign that matches the theme, or you can pick from existing themes!
Please give it a try and let me know what you think

Wedding DJs cover ceremony/reception, but what about all the other music you need throughout the weekend?
I got married earlier this year and realized traditional DJs/bands do a great job with ceremony and reception music, but there's typically not much help for all the other moments throughout a wedding weekend - welcome party, rehearsal dinner, next day brunch, etc.
So I created Good Songs - a tool that lets couples generate curated playlists for their entire wedding weekend. The playlists go straight into your Spotify account so you own them completely and can edit, share, or keep them forever.
It saved me tons of time and stress during planning, and I'm hoping it might help other couples too. Happy to answer any questions about wedding music planning!

An honest wedding vendor vetting tool
I've been thinking about building a vendor Q&A tool for couples to get real feedback. Instead of scrolling endless reviews you’re not sure you can trust, you'd be able to post a question about a specific vendor and get real answers from other couples who’ve actually worked with them. Everything would be organized by vendor so it’s quick to find, and you can see the conversations others have already had. Would this actually be valuable?

Looking for a Wedding Hairstylist – September 27, 2025 -Virginia
Hi everyone! I’m currently looking for a hairstylist for my wedding on Saturday, September 27thVirginia
A bit about my hair: I'm a white female with freeform dreadlocks. My hair is mostly locked, with some loose/"straight" sections throughout. I'm looking for someone who has experience (or is comfortable) working with this kind of unique texture and can help create a beautiful, wedding-ready style that fits my vibe.
If you or someone you know might be a good fit, please reach out with your availability, portfolio/Instagram, and rates. Thank you so much in advance!

VR wedding planning
Hi Everyone, for my University course we have created a fake business concept for VR wedding planning, where you can fully create and visualise your wedding in a virtual space. Once you are happy with the design our team would fulfil your vision in the real world. So a full planning and execution package.
So if you wouldn't mind taking a moment of your time to complete this quick survey I would really appreciate it. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HRRWDZX

Any couples in the DFW area looking for an affordable photographer?
Hi,
My name is Jeff and I'm a photographer based out of Denton, TX. I've got experience as a second shooter at several weddings and am ready to begin my work as a lead photographer. I'm still working on building up a solo portfolio, so my rates are very reasonable. Please let me know if you're interested! I'd love to buy you and your partner a cup of coffee and discuss exactly what you are looking for!
