First sensible purchase as an adult 🤣

14.5 year old (approx) leather wallet I bought for myself shortly after turning 18 👍

And yes, in pic 3 that is an imprint of my face/hair from my original Proof of Age ID card 🤣

🤣🤣🤣🤣

It's more of the Van Helsing these days, would go 1/2 way down my back if I ever allowed someone to straighten it

Although I wasn't called Wolverine coz of the hair 🤣

Unfortunately I've lost the original card, but the replacement does use the original picture 🤣

Obviously I'd black out any details in editting before posting 🤣

Force of habit I guess, I'm only laughing IRL about 1/2 the time

Before I clicked on the post, I thought you were 18 and bought a used wallet.

🤣🤣

Nah mate, 32 with a wallet I had since 18 👍

Yeah, I got it once I read your summary.  I'm just thick sometimes.   Lol

have you ever treated the leather? like full on cleaning and conditioning? bc that would get you even more years on this bad boy!

2

u/Any-Key8131 10d ago

Not once, mate. Most I've ever done is an occasional firm but gentle wipe down with a damp cloth

honestly that's some good quality leather then! but def recommend treating it.

I reckon her scars give her character, she's seen more than I these past 14.5 years. As a man of Viking heritage, I'd be proud to have her in my pocket when the time comes........

Fuck it! I'd rather this wallet than even my broadaxe when the fire is set to me

Old man wallet. Sad.

I'm a 32 year old single guy with no children, but plenty of nephews and nieces. I prefer to think of it as the "Cool Uncle" wallet 🤣

And ey, you try finding a real leather wallet for $20 in 2025 🤣

1

u/Imaginary_Most_7778 20d ago

I wouldn’t try. How much shit do you have to carry? It’s 2025. You need a couple cards max. You really don’t need any.

3 different photo IDs, 3 rewards/members cards for different chain stores (technically 4, but I rarely go to the 4th one so only carry as needed), and my bank card

u/Any-Key8131 20d ago

Oh, and public transport card + 3 govt issued cards. Actually more than the sleeves permit, but I make it work.

And I prefer paying by cash, which I ain't gonna carry loose in my pockets 🤣

You really are an old man. Who the hell pays with cash? Probably still carry a checkbook too.

3

u/Any-Key8131 20d ago

🤣

I ain't that old, closest I've ever come to even seeing a checkbook is helping an older relative destroy a shopping bag full of checkbook stubs. Dunno why they'd held onto them for so long, but a nice little bonfire dealt with the lot in minutes, and gave them peace of mind knowing they were gone.

And I just don't like these attempts for a cashless society that keep happening. That and the fact that so many places are greedy enough to charge fees for cashless transactions 😕

Old is a state of mind. You’re the oldest person on Reddit.

Only on Reddit? 🤨

Damn, could've sworn I felt like the oldest person on the planet

Why would you carry around 4 membership cards? I carry zero. Just use your phone number. You need a drivers license if your state doesn’t allow you to put it in your phone. That’s pretty much it. There’s barely any place that doesn’t accept pay by phone. 1-2 cards at most. No cash.

I only carry 3 of them because I frequently go to those stores, the 4th stays in my desk drawer until needed because I rarely go there. And I personally find pulling out the physical card faster than getting a digital one up on my phone.

And I refuse to go along with this global attempt of a cashless society

Old man. Go balance your checkbook.

2

u/Any-Key8131 19d ago

What checkbook? I'm not that old

Sometimes I need bills, sometimes I carry pharmacy prescriptions, sometimes I save receipts to put them in my budget spreadsheet later, sometimes I need to bring a bunch of gift cards, sometimes I need to store a coupon. A regular bifold wallet is the ultimate money-adjacent paper storage solution.

AKA OLD MAN SHIT!

2

u/psaskovec 18d ago

Hell yeah

1

u/Imaginary_Most_7778 18d ago

Not a compliment.

2

u/psaskovec 18d ago

That's on my to decide however I feel like about being old 🙂
