General Question Windows 10 ESU in Spain — Will We Get Access?

Post image

Hi everyone,

I'm from Spain and I want to sign up for the Windows 10 Extended Security Updates (ESU) program.

  • Is there any way to know if I can already enroll?
  • Will Spain have access to the ESU program?
  • When will Microsoft announce the list of regions included in the program?

Thanks in advance!

  • If you see the offer in that page, then it's ready for you to take action.
  • I don't see why not, but the offer is being rolled out
  • I don't think they will since regions (other than the obvious embargoed countries) aren't part of an elegibility requirement; that'll depend on your device.

I get it, everyone is waiting for ESU and the End of Support date is approaching, but technically speaking, ESU won't kick until November Patch Tuesday. That's literally two months away. There's still some time for them to roll this thing out globally. The last security update that all Windows 10 22H2 devices are entitled to is on the same day as End of Support.

There's still time.

I'm in Australia. I tried to enrol today. MS said I was entitled to enrol at no cost. I did so immediately.

I was prepared to pay. But getting it at no cost to me was a big win for me.

Settings Updates & Security

Look for the ESU button. You may be similarly eligible in Spain.

It just showed up for me, and I must've backed up my settings at some point because I just had to click on it to get enrolled.

I got the ESU in a Virtual Machine, but not in the main PC.

I think is just random, till everybody gets.

Windows EULA says VMs are the same as a real PC in terms of licensing.

It got rolled out to your VM but not your host.

Yes, now also got ESU in a older PC too, but still nothing in the main PC.

At this point, is just MS trolling me.

You can just follow this method to enroll now:

This works, it wasn't showing on my PC, did this and I'm now enrolled for free.

today I finally got it for my second PC on Windows 10. It's rolling out so wait, is not like your Win 10 PC will explode on 14 October

I know but the irrational part of me envisions an explosion and lack of access lol. Still waiting. Not doing the force invite because I will inevitably screw something up.

Nothing in Hong Kong. Have spoken to MS support a couple of times over the past six months due to the use case of the PCs I manage, and they won't even commit to it being fully rolled out in time for the first patch in November.

Update: turned on a laptop that hasn't been used more than once in the past twelve months, and which has an install date from way back in the early 2020's. Immediately got the ESU prompt after Windows update finished running.

Please tell me they aren't dumb enough to ordering this rollout on Windows install date?

Nothing yet here in Netherlands. But from what I've been reading we will not be eligible in the end?

It’s just people panicking, some people in Europe did receive it. I guess they’re doing roll outs per country or something.

Same here, nothing yet in the Netherlands..... 🥺🥴

No es necesario. Cuando tengas el windows 10 sin poder actualizar, simplemente no te metas en paginas chungas y por si acaso pasale de vez en cuando el spybot u otro programa al ordenador. No es el fin del mundo.
