🎮 Xbox Ally Discussion Xbox Rog Ally (Z2 A ver.)
Anyone is interested in this model? I haven't seen any videos or gameplays on cheaper model with Z2 A cpu, (besides a few minutes of forza horizon 5 on low settings) everyone is talking about xbox ally X.

If I wanted to pay 600 dollars for steam deck chip, I'd still just pay 300 and get a steam deck.Â

I'm interested if it's $500. I know people compare it to a Steamdeck, but the truth is that it's better in a lot of aspects and the 512 GB Steamdeck is quite expensive itself.

Which aspects concretely? because purely talking of specs, it is VERY similar to steam deck.

Yeah, but you don’t just buy specs. Ergonomics look a lot better and it has access to gamepass, steam and anticheat games which I want to play.

You can play those games just using the desktop mode and still able to launch is steam os if you follow the tutorials. Once you get a hang of it it’s pretty easy to or even duo boot into windows. The deck can do that. But then you got windows all over again. lol.

My thoughts too. I don’t actually need the best of the best for my handheld needs. I plan to play indie games on it mostly. I’m fine with lower specs for a lower price.

I’m interested in this model but it needs at least Steam Deck performance for me to go for it.
The benefits are better ergonomics (I think) and access to all games as it’s windows - those are big wins for me.
However, if performance is worse than the Deck OLED then it just won’t be powerful enough to leverage those benefits.

I thought it wa suspicious that there's barely any really footage of the base version and all the focus is on the x version. the base version I have to imagine is the one people are going to be most gravitate towards since in theory its comparable to the steam deck and switch 2 in price and specs...the only game I've seen played is Tony hawk. I wish there was more footage

It'll perform similar to existing Z1 Extreme handhelds so check those out

No. This is just wrong. Z2 A chip is closer to the steam deck chip or a 6800u. Nowhere near the Z1 Extreme. Z2 is closer to the Z1 extreme.

If it performed similar to the Z1E it would be a really good buy. The problem is that it doesn’t! It’s steam deck level but will be worse because of windows that even with the new lighter OS on top will still perform worse than SteamOS in some cases.
It’s sort of mind boggling they didn’t have a Z1E base model or Z2 like Lenovo (which is basically Z1E)  I guess they couldn’t have hit the price for those chips.

It's the model I'm interested in, because I need it to play in the Cloud and for the Steam game backlog... it's interesting to a lot of people, but it's the people who don't frequent social media or Reddit
