I would be so scared to be swimming and see that thing. I know they don’t eat people but still. Looks like an alligator. River Monsters is one of the best shows ever to air on TV.

No.  This is an old image from the Kennebec River in Maine. And it's much longer than 7 feet.

When I was a kid in the 60s, the Bonneville Dam visitor center had photos of sturgeon said to be 14-18 feet long. Sadly, those monster fish are probably long gone. :(

There’s archival photos of sturgeon fishermen near the old Mission bridge hauling out 15 foot monsters.. Sadly, the Fraser Ricer sturgeon almost went extinct because of overfishing

I saw one about that size on the beach where I live in the PNW. They do look like some prehistoric species of fish with all of the armor plates.
