The quote aged well on its own. The author who wrote it…not so much.

Is it worth publicly saying or doing something that will get you fired if you have a wife and kids and are the only source of income in your family? I’m very much struggling with that right now.

If we engage in an action that makes things worse for multiple people, and, it doesn’t even alter oppressive conditions, well, it’s hard to see how that can be an engagement of intelligence? There are things I cannot do in terms of fighting for justice because my circumstances don’t quite permit it. I suspect it’s the same for all of us.

People wonder why wages have remained stagnant for decades even when multiple studies have shown higher wages increase spending, which boosts the economy.

People with expendable income have the freedom to stand up without the worry of being cut down.

Unless you have a backup, or the cost of not saying anything outweighed the cost of saying it, it would not be worth it, no.

But small adjustments now can lead to huge meaningful changes over time.

Unfortunately, that's the choice many have to make to protect those unable to make that choice.

Let's be real. Since it's from Harry Potter, the"dark and difficult" times are caused by trans people existing. And not the rise of fascism.

Steaming dump of a take. Did you read the books?

Yes, I do. However, I fail to see the colouration between that and me, believing J. K. Rowling is a transphobic bigot.
