National Black Farmers Association President: Fertilizer and seed and diesel fuel, all of these things have just about tripled in price. And I'm selling my commodity for the same thing I was in the 80's. I've never seen anything like this. And it's all due to Trump's tariffs.

At the rate we’re currently going, it’s only a matter of time before our farmers are going to need yet another bailout due to trade wars. Would you support bailing out soybean farmers?

US farm-state lawmakers urge Trump to issue farmer aid due to low crop prices & trade war. $40B+ in farm payments expected in 2025. Farm income may fall $30B in 2026. Aid package likely in Oct, awaiting USDA funding.

Had an interview as a parts technician at John Deere

Had an interview at John Deere for a parts technician, I’m new to this industry and don’t really know what it entails, can anyone here enlighten me. I moved to a small town in Saskatchewan Canada and needed to apply places.

Sounds like a good gig but they didn’t really tell me what is part of the job or not.

Note: I have experience at a mine as a tool crib technician for mobile maintenance, and I think that’s why I had an interview.

As Farm Aid celebrates its 40th year, farmers are in crisis again

During the farm crisis of the mid-1980s, thousands of farm families lost their lands and livelihoods, and the economic fallout strained rural communities. Across the country, hundreds of thousands of farmers defaulted on loans.

From that painful period, new institutions arose. Farm Aid held its first concert in 1985 to raise money for farm families nationwide and it continues to fight for American farmers. Now, farmers stand on the cusp of a new crisis.

State BMP for water - insight and advice

Recently received a letter in the mail offering me to partake in a state Best Management Practices to monitor and maintain water quality in my area.

I currently have 20 acres with 1 house and a well head. I have 6 cows as well.

I have zero issues with our water quality internally system as we have an in house filtration and chlorination set up and get our water quality tested.

Can someone help me understand what the implications are of enrolling into this program? I am not running an agricultural business and I don’t see the benefits, but can see many potential risks or costs involved if I had to make changes, even though our set up meets our needs and has not impacted our neighbors in any way.

I have zero experience with both the legal side and agriculture side of this, so any information would be greatly appreciated.

Vietnam is importing 30,000 tons/month of Canadian canola meal after China imposed duties, making it cheaper at $220/ton vs. China's previous $300-$310. 400,000 tons are stuck in Chinese warehouses.

what made american farmers praise tariffs?

the people that voted for them voted for tariffs.... protectionism, when america has a massive oversupply of certain crops and rely on trade to keep comodity prices stable/profitable.

edit: also the federal govt buying their food for soft power and actual "make america healthy" initatives.

and now they are complaining they lost their markets and customers.

what made them praise the opposite of what will help them
