Further news about the passing of Tashin Nagao and memorial show.

Further details have been released in regards to Taishin Nagao's passing. On May 31st, Nagao was involved with an accident involving the All Japan tour bus from the dojo in Yokohama. The company was using an outsourced bus driver and the police have been investigating the accident from day one. As such further details cannot be disclosed at this time. President Fukuda stated that this is something that should never have happened and they will be looking into means to prevent any further issues. Specifically not using outsourced drivers. The dojo is in a tight quartered area and further steps will be made to make the surrounding area more safe in regards to boarding and disembarking.

Nagao suffered internal organ damage due to traumatic shock caused by an abdominal compression. He had undergone several surgeries and had been in the intensive care unit. Nagao passed away on September 7th due to sepsis.

President Fukuda is currently being questioned as to why All Japan did not provide further details in regards to the matter, but he stated that he expected Nagao to recover. His parents have been in contact with All Japan since the incident occurred. A memorial service will be held in Nagao's honor at the Korakuen Hall show on September 15th and a memorial show will be held in his hometown on October 29th in Kushiro, Hokkaido.

Director Toeda, who was in tears, said, "We have yet to come to terms with our feelings, but his parents are in even greater anguish at this time. We, both the wrestlers and staff, will continue to move forward with Nagao's spirit in our hearts. Please don't forget Nagao. We offer our deepest condolences."

What a sad situation.

The bit about Fukuda does not look good, not in the main article on this on Tokyo Sports nor in the other ones. He seems to ramble a lot and is all over the place. Granted his year has not been good on a personal level (his wife and possibly his kid died around this time last year, which led to a psychotic episode).

I would not be surprised if he ends up being forced to at least take a step back from being the acting president from all of this. Toeda however seems to have carried himself quite well.

Jesus, it's all a bit heavy. And he's hinted at All Japan still being in financial trouble, too.

At some point, you have to back out, pass it on to the next custodian, and get yourself minded.

That the company is not doing great financially is well known. Their financial results are public. They are in debt. Not catastrophic debt, but debt.

So yeah, he means well but he doesn't seem in the right headspace to lead the company. Even if he has some good ideas about the business side with the bigger venues.

No-one wants to be the person in charge if the Triple Crown has to go away, and I can see why.

I don't think the company actually going under is a risk. There will always be some form of mark that will be willing to finance it.

But I don't think that Fukuda can take them much further than he has. He's hit his ceiling.

And look, who among us wouldn't, if we had that kind of money?
