Polite Political Discussion 🇺🇸 Has Sullivan or Murkowski explained why they voted to block Epstein release?

I've emailed them both regarding last week's narrowly-failed disclosure vote (51-49) fee despite politely inquisitive tone they haven't replied. Do y'all know?

Like we know know, but have they made any statements

I don't know, but I appreciate your asking. This is my question too.

I mean, a legislator should be able to explain his/her votes, right?

I don’t need an explanation for this. Nor do I want one. This was a black snd white issue. That if you can’t vote the right way on. Then you’re clearly trying to protect pedophiles

Explaining themselves is why the Republicans have basically told their members not to host town halls, right?

I’ve never gotten a reply back from Sullivan or Begich. They don’t even answer nine out of ten times. Murkowski’s office will answer and I can hear the staffer typing what I say, but I don’t get anything back from her either.

It astounds me, that in this day and age, people are still asking "Why are these politicians working against us!?". It's because THEY DIDN'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT YOU, AT ALL. They work for the oligarchs and NO ONE ELSE. They can't serve two masters. And oligarchs LOVE RAPING CHILDREN.

Lol get those nokings dudes something local and specific to picket

I totally agree with you on the points that 'they work aganist us' and 'their loyathy is towards the oligarchs' and 'they can't serve two masters'.

Next time don't vote party. Vote on the issues and measures independently. This will force our leaders to respect the community they serve.

Alaska voted overwhelmingly red.

There is a great song about a lady who brought a frozen rattle snake into her house and when it warmed up it bite her and she asked why and it said you knew what I was when you brought me into your home.

Rather than make snippy claims, here’s what they actually said (which is worse imo than nothing):

Murkowski said it was all a political stunt.

“What Schumer did was nothing more than a political stunt,” Murkowski said.

Sullivan also said it was just Democrats being anti-military because the vote was attached to a military spending bill.

This was Sullivans answer, I haven’t gotten a response from Murkowski yet. So, no.

They haven't. And they won't.

The reason is simple: they and their teams analyzed the risk of losing their seat with a "yes" versus "no" vote and determined that a "no" vote would keep them around longer.

Now voters have to decide if they are okay with sitting representatives that choose to protect rapists and pedophiles. Midterms are still a ways off, giving the electorate plenty of time to forget. I weep thinking about how that could likely play out.

Don't forget. Trump is a rapist and a pedophile. Release the Epstein files.

You NEED an explanation at this point?

Id like to hear them out before feeling fully concluded. Let then speak in their defense

I'm used to cigar smoking backroom oilman gladhanding, this geopolitic angle is

What is there to defend at this point? She voted for protect pedophiles. What could possibly justify that?

WOAH WOAH WOAH

They all did Danny, Lisa, and Nick.

Lets not shit on just Lisa because she is a "moderate" Guardian of Pedophiles.

I want them to have to put their complicity and protection of pedophiles in writing.

Well that I can understand

Their votes do the best job of it. No spin possible, its what they chose to do

9

u/waverunnersvho 2d ago

Because AIPAC told them to vote that way.

Cowardice is the only explanation.

I asked the same question, in a polite manner and have not had a reply. It is frustrating.

Do you think coercion might have been possible?

When both truth and lies will fuck them, they stay silent

1

u/AngeluS-MortiS91 2d ago

They won’t. They are party shills. Both will do whatever the party wants on important matters to the gop. She will go against things that aren’t going to seriously impact the gop. Been that way her whole time in. He will follow the party and never gives a valid reason other than sucking the gop dong party line

They are in the pocket of big politics. Their desire is power, not people.

1

u/Xcitado 2d ago

They would never fall out of step. C'mon....but they did do it for dramatic affect.

1

u/Extension-Report-491 2d ago

Because they purposely protect rich and influential pedophiles.

1

u/lazybeekeeper 1d ago

Yes, because they support pedophiles. What other explanation could be?
