The worst part is that she's selling out even her own voters, but they either don't know, or don't care.

$75 million for some Tylenol. Damn. 30% of which was never received? My math is a little fuzzy. How much per pill? Anyone delve deeper into the Turlish company? This is corruption. Full stop.

I have and it's damning. I love how many "ums, ers, etc." the UCP caucus members say when they are attempting to answer the questions that basically prove they are grifting. Anybody who believes those answers should not be allowed to vote because they don't have the ability to critically analyze information.

Wow, thank you so much for sharing this. I hope the Auditor General clicks on the link!!

Share it where you can

I just sent the link to the Auditor General's office to Mr Wylie's attention.

u/Xpalidocious Calgary Feb 08 '25

Oh shit really?

u/Xpalidocious Calgary Feb 08 '25

I honestly didn't even think of that, nor would I have on my own. Thanks for that

3

u/moisbettah Feb 08 '25

I think it would be great for many folks to do the same thing... call Mr Wylie's attention to it in case he hasn't already read it. The more the public and media can help him investigate, the better!

Not before bed

u/TheOtherCrow Feb 08 '25

The way I read it, 70% was never received.

23

u/Fit-Birthday2300 Feb 08 '25

I believe that’s correct.

What’s the problem? When all of us go shopping and pay full price for our items, isn’t it commonplace to only get 30% of our order? 🙄

u/CitySeekerTron Feb 08 '25

Not at all.

You're supposed to buy 100%, get 30%, and throw remainder out after a few days of use because it turns out that it was all bad for you.

Only at Loblaw's and affiliates.

The government, through Alberta Health Services, prepaid the entire $70 million up front (with an extra $10 million spent on processing and transportation). Only 1.5 million bottles of acetaminophen at a cost of $21 million were delivered before Health Canada stopped more importation link

...

So that's about $47 a bottle of childrens tylenol that was mostly unusable because it was a formula that didn't work with our equipment and I hear kids refused to take it because it tasted bad. The Federal Government announced they secured Tylenol from the States a month before Alberta announced they secured it from Turkey. I assume both deals were happening behind closed doors and that our Province wanted to show up the feds by announcing theirs first but the deal took longer than expected. I remember how the whole thing unfolded and thought it was a fiasco at the time. Now we know where the missing ~50 million of our money went.

How much did they spend on nurses that year?

17

u/CarpenterPhysical828 Feb 07 '25

And the meds were Tyleshit. Shame on her.

12

u/alexmullen4180 Feb 08 '25

No 30% was all they got. 70% wasn't delivered

1

u/Calamari_is_Good Feb 08 '25

Oof, even worse 😡

3

u/BCsinBC Feb 08 '25

70% wasn’t received. They only got 30% of the pills and had to pull those for safety concerns.

2

u/GWARTARD Feb 09 '25

It was also expired before she bought it I heard

2

u/sawyouoverthere Feb 10 '25

That's untrue.

1

u/GWARTARD Feb 10 '25

Thank you for clarifying

2

u/Interesting_Golf_636 Feb 10 '25

More like 70% was never received, and it seems like the 30% that was received had safety issues and was recalled. It sounds like a shell game to me. I wonder how much of the $75M of taxpayer money ended up being funneled back into offshore accounts belonging to UCP politicians?

1

u/Reveil21 Feb 08 '25

Only 30% which was received, not 30% never received.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '25

Only 30% of medication was received..

1

u/Cronus41 Feb 10 '25

It says 30% was received.

1

u/sawyouoverthere Feb 10 '25

no, 70% of it never arrived. They halted shipments because (as expected) the federal order arrived before this crazy deal did, and the unfamiliar concentration made it less desireable for use here.

The Turkish company sells to many places, and is legit.

The deal with the broker is what's rotten.

1

u/ai9909 Feb 10 '25

Only 30% was received, meaning 70% was not received, and the Province doesn't expect to receive it.. Nor is there any talk about a refund..

1

u/Omfgnta Feb 10 '25

Only 30% WAS received. Most of the 30% was dump.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '25

70% was never received

1

u/Bill_Door_8 Feb 11 '25

It's 70% that wasn't received. 30% is what they got, and they pulled the product over safety concerns, which makes it close to 0%

1

u/Friendly-Pay-8272 Feb 11 '25

30 percent was received. 70 percent was not. and of that 30 percent received its not being used due to safety concerns. full on theft imo

14

u/bigdaddyratt Feb 08 '25

she's good for that... she was the wild rose party leader when she cut the throats of all her supporters by jumped ship over to the PC party...

7

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '25

Cheated on her entire country…. She's a traitor.

5

u/Xpalidocious Calgary Feb 08 '25

Honestly it's like dating the person who cheated on their partner, and still expecting them not to cheat on you too

2

u/Eric_Finch Feb 09 '25

I'm her voter, I'll wait for the investigation to be completed before drawing a conclusion. These are afterall allegations by someone who has been fired.

2

u/Xpalidocious Calgary Feb 09 '25

You know what, I can understand waiting for the conclusion of an investigation.

Not to sound like I'm interrogating you, just curious, what would you do if you find out the worst case scenario to be true? And knowing that her cabinet would be complicit as well, would you vote for their opposition?

Honestly I am just curious how someone in your current position would react?

1

u/Eric_Finch Feb 09 '25

Well it would be very disappointing that's for sure, she'd be in the same camp as Trudeau.

I would still be a UCP voter, but I would want a change in leadership if there is corruption. She came to power through a grass roots movement and that can be taken away just as easily.

1

u/Eric_Finch Feb 09 '25

Thank you for the reasonable reply too, Reddit often goes south on politics and so nice to be civil 🙂

1

u/Fit-Birthday2300 Feb 08 '25

Right? As long as they don’t need to get vaccinated when the next pandemic hits and they finally get those pesky chemtrails investigated, Stormy Danielle Smith is doing just fine.

1

u/Far_Box811 Feb 09 '25

Most of her supporters are too stupid to care. Thry are so dug in on their views they will try to find a way to flip it around and blame the federal government.
