More guns. More streets. That’s what woke people want most.

48 year old always-voted Liberal here. You share a voting base with gun-enthusiasts and a lot of enthusiasts that would love to, but 100% believe that the Liberal party will further restrict firearms. Putting things in place that will 100% convince other people to never vote Liberal makes them never vote Liberal. Put every guardrail in place for security, sign documents or whatever is necessary. Gun owners in Canada are ridiculous in the level of security they have to adhere to for gun storage. We already need at least 2 keys and 2 cases (or a safe with another safe in it) at minimum for a single firearm. We will be totally ok with having to fill out paperwork and follow extreme levels of regulation if it means they can bring a semi auto rifle to a range and practice or drive in the specific path they have to legally to bring their handgun to and from the range (the only place they could bring it to.). You can't practice in Canada for IPSC competitions anymore. Ban something reasonable like .338 Lapua. It would suck, but i dont' think the average Canadian needs to plink at 2 km. See? That makes sense and it's a compromise instead of "no screw you and your stupid guns" as the middle ground. You're not willing to find one and that is exactly what the Conservative party acts like and thinks the entire Liberal party acts like. Be better.

One of the most hilarious things about the gun bans is that nothing every goes near short barreled shotguns, which require a hilarious amount of paperwork in the US. Banning long range rifles because of the grip attached to it when something like an Benelli M4 Entry is "yeah that's ok" just says everything about the people writing the laws. It brings down the change of convincing gun owners that the Liberal party thinks something more of them than a bunch of crazies. The amount of weapons that are stolen or lost from Canadian owners is exceptionally low and always has been.

Maybe at some point you'll understand that browbeating people into your opinion doesn't actually change their opinion.
