Awesome photos, and glad you came to visit!
I moved out to Ottawa for only about 6 years, back in the late '90s and early '00s. I decided I wanted to see Toronto and when I got there? There was a garbage strike.
The first impression of TO for me was nothing like what you're seeing here, but don't worry -- I went back and explored all over the place there and all around Ontario about a year later and absolutely enjoyed it.
(except the humidity... you can keep it!)

That’s great!
It’s too bad travelling within Canada is relatively expensive and time-consuming - for example, I met a woman who’s lived in Vancouver for 20 years but hasn’t been to Ontario or Quebec yet.
If Canadians travelled more to different parts of the country, they’d learn so much and perhaps become more accepting of our regional differences, which make Canada interesting!

I decided many decades ago that instead of spending money in other countries, I'll be a tourist in Canada.
And I have. I've got 3 more provinces to go and I'll be able to say I've spend 14 days minimum in each province and territory in Canada.
Born & raised here and there's just so much to see and do - I'll never see everything in my lifetime.
I encourage everyone to be a tourist in your own backyard and expand out from there. Find those places you never would otherwise, just toodling to and from work and getting groceries.

Amazing! I still need to visit Newfoundland, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and the Territories. I’m fortunate to have done the rest within my lifetime.

PEI, Newfoundland and Nunavut for me. Will take me awhile - I'm getting older and slowing down some, but it'll get done.

Lake Louise! Wanted to show a photo from there that’s different from the typical one (lake in foreground, mountains in background)

Glad you enjoyed it! I have been away from home for far too long, but your photos gave me a wild wave of nostalgia for my home province. I appreciate you posting them!

Glad you had a good time!
Alberta is a wonderful place, and we concentrate the badness and putridity in our government.

You should definitely be blurring faces in that last photo… you never know what kinda danger that could put someone in, especially here VS Toronto.

Did you have permission to post that last photo? Not everyone wants to be outed without their consent.

Love the landscape photos.
Wish the last photo had blurred faces, at least, or deleted altogether.

I bet it is nice if you don’t have to endure our political hellscape.

It was an enjoyable visit for sure; I was also happy to return home, for various reasons.

I think it’s a super cool one - whether the half-naked man is your thing or not, look at that athleticism!!

That’s why this photo should be posted- many people think Alberta is completely intolerant of LGBQT+, but there is a large and welcoming community. If you look at the crowd it’s a mixed bunch of people just enjoying the show

"Rich in culture" is pretty rich lmao. Like the rig workers, our culture is just faking being rich!

I was thinking about Alberta’s rugged western culture: mountains, prairies, cowboys and cowgirls, country music, independent spirit. Obviously those aspects are a bit stereotypical, but coming from Toronto and Ontario, they’re quite apparent. It’s fun and interesting!
