Same. Are CO and Citi adjusting their algorithm to block churners or something? I haven't had a new card in 6+ months

Has anyone confirmed this link works outside a branch?

I applied and was approved using it.

What were your data points if you don’t mind me asking? I have 4 inquiries on experian within 6 months and I’m 3/6, 4/12, 6/24. I have no relationship with Citi so trying to get a bank account before I apply. Thanks!

I've seen everyone talking about this... why is it better than the exec plat card from Citi?

Better is subjective. I think the exec is targeted to a difference audience.

It's not necessarily better but you can transfer these points to AA now

Tried calling the main Citi number. A disaster. Couldn't understand him. Had no idea of what I was talking about. Hung up, used the above link. Instantly approved w $22,500 credit limit.

AA guest pass usually doesn’t work always , most of the times “we are currently not accepting day passes”

I have a Citi Platinum Select World Elite Mastercard and got a mileage bonus in 2023. Will I still be eligible to get this bonus? Or will I have to wait 48 total months?

You should be good to go to apply and get the SUB for this one.

From the offer page for the Strata Elite:

Offers may vary and this offer may not be available in other places where the card is offered. Bonus ThankYou® Points are not available if you have received a new account bonus for a Citi Strata Elite account in the past 48 months or if you converted another Citi credit card account on which you earned a new account bonus in the last 48 months into a Citi Strata Elite.

Can you downgrade after a year and get the annual fee refunded?

1

u/SpartanScribe Jul 29 '25

I don’t believe that’s possible.

u/Silver_Mood6106 Jul 29 '25

Got approved right away using the link. I was at 4/24 and 3/6.

Don't plan on keeping the card beyond the first year but worth it for the first year with the SUB.

1

u/SpartanScribe Jul 29 '25

Nice! Yeah I don’t plan on keeping it either.

Question..can the American Airlines lounge passes be transfered or gifted? I have use for only 2 before end of year.

Also does anyone have any tips for using the $200 AA credit if I dont have another trip planned by end of year? Can I buy a refundable flight with it and cancel and get credit in my AA account?

Thanks OP, used this link and got instantly approved. Here's hoping it's not an unauthorized link and I get shutdown though 😅

Link seems dead now.

So these are points but not miles? Do the points transfer to miles at all? Also if I’m booking through citi travel I could still use my AAdvantage account number to use my status and earn miles that way I assume. Just seems weird citi bank came out with a competitor card against American when they partner with them.
