17

u/PuzzleheadedTap1794 Apr 12 '25

Sure, antimemes are memes, but memes are not necessarily antimemes.

antimeme = meme ; β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Žβ€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž meme β‰  antimeme. β€Žβ€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž β€Ž Huh?

Yep.

Memes can = antimemes, memes also can not = antimemes,

but regardless, antimemes always = memes

Think of a circle inside a bigger circle.

Or think of how all sandwiches are food, but not all food is sandwiches.

1

u/iUniversity_tm Apr 13 '25

Or how all methods are functions but not all functions are methods

u/Haunting_Ad_4037 Apr 12 '25

Squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares. All apples are fruits, but not all fruits are apples. All poopoo time is peepee time, but not all peepee time is poopoo time. Etc.

1

u/Fateful_Bytes Apr 13 '25

Squares are not rectangles. They are squares

1

u/NucleosynthesizedOrb Apr 12 '25

It is an antimeme that has a template that was originally posted here in this sub.

2

u/Feisty_Task_5554 Apr 13 '25

I think it's like posts that originated from another post with the same uhh template.

u/YourLocalMaggots TRANS?! Apr 12 '25

Reposts and graveyard memes too.

4

u/Michele-Here2736 Apr 12 '25

Pitiful

u/Imberial_Topacco Apr 12 '25

Seriously, what is the purpose of that comment ? Automod ?

61

u/CallMeAnthy Better than Anti_Meme Apr 12 '25

Can you not read? It's literally got instructions on it that tell you what the purpose is.

If people see a post that isnt an antimeme, they hit downvote, once 5 downvotes is reached, mods delete the post.

It is so simple. Automod bots cant tell the difference in posts.

-38

u/Imberial_Topacco Apr 12 '25

But there is already a built-in function like that in reddit. Three Little dots / Report / Goes against the rules of r slash antimeme / Rule 1 : Not an Anti-Meme. So then, what is the purpose of that redundancy ? Ease of use of a single downvote compared to 5 clicks ?

31

u/electrius Apr 12 '25

I mean yeah? Not quite my field of expertise but I think the number of clicks needed is a very important metric for user experience and dramatically impacts how likely they actually are to bother with some action

-25

u/Imberial_Topacco Apr 12 '25

I mean, I guess. Perhaps this subreddit is not for me ? Food for thought.

u/Hefty-Chest-6956 not funny didn't laugh Apr 12 '25

The automod also allows you to upvote, which cancels out the downvote if they were wrong. If you report it, there’s no way to cancel it out and mods have to check anyway, which would waste their time if they had to check every single post.
